It’s almost time for the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 playoffs and just before HEROIC went to pick which team they’ll be facing off against at this stage of the tournament, I got the speak to Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard about joining HEROIC, building relationships on and off the server and the first few games of this tournament.
Chr1zN: I’m good, I’m good. Just looking forward to seeing the pick later and whatnot. And then it’s going to be exciting.
Sophie: Yeah, sure. How’s the weather in Malta? I heard it was actually really stormy yesterday.
Chr1zN: Yeah, it’s going to be very storming. Our taxi driver told us that it’s a very bad time. We came because it’s got a night for rain days. Nine days, sorry. So, yeah, that’s not going to be so good, but hopefully we’re going to be playing all the time. So we’ll be inside, so it’s no problem.
Sophie: That’s exactly it, yeah. Have you been to the studio yet? I’ve not seen it, actually.
Chr1zN: I haven’t yet. Hopefully I’ll get to do that later at some point, but now I haven’t seen anything yet. It’s exciting. I’ve only seen it on stream as everyone else, so, yeah, it’s gonna be cool.
Sophie: Yeah, for sure. That is exciting. Okay, cool.

Chr1zN: It’s been really cool so far. I feel like everyone is very nice and we’re very like young team and you can definitely feel that as well. You know, with the energy. Everyone is here, they’re very excited. For some people, it’s still a bit new, you know, all of the stuff, like myself, you know.
So I think we have really good chemistry and we just want to win, you know, like, you can definitely feel that on everyone. So it’s been really, really good. And I’m just looking forward to spending even more time with everyone and getting to know them. So, yeah, it’s going to be very nice.
Sophie: That’s good.
Chr1zN: I mean, like, we just had a boot camp for the first time where we really got to see each other, you know, and spend time with each other. I think people are very good at, like, making sure everyone is, like, involved whenever we do stuff. So, for example, like, we have people who like to go to the gym, then we make sure we do together. If somebody’s going shopping, we’re doing it together. Or if maybe people just want to go for a walk or whatever, you know. And the same goes for all the small stuff, like breakfast and whatnot.
We try to really implement each other, so we try to spend as much time wherever we can, other than practise, of course. And yeah, try to build a connection and, yeah. Feel each other out and see where we can get those extra percentages.
Sophie: I mean, that sounds very wholesome. I’m into that. I love it. So, obviously you mentioned that you guys are a very young team, but you’re also a really young IGL.
Chr1zN: I mean, I think, like, being a young IGL definitely has its upsides. I mean, of course I have more time, hopefully to play and gain more experience, but also feel like even though I’m young, I’ve played for now almost five years, you know, so I have quite a bit of experience.
But I think, like, it definitely has some upsides, especially when the group is young. I feel like I have a bit understanding of where people are at and also, like, what thoughts could go through their head, you know, before a game or whatnot. So, I mean, I think I have a easier time helping them with different stuff. But no, I just think it’s nice. I don’t really think too much about my age in that sense. I feel like I’m, you know, just doing my job and I’m good at it. So that’s the important part. But no, I mean, it’s just. Yeah, I mean, it’s not something I take too much into account, but I think definitely it can have its upsides.
Sophie: Yeah, for sure. Because I’m not sure if you remember, but the last time I spoke to you was actually at the ThunderPick World Championship in Berlin a couple of years ago.

Chr1zN: I think, yeah, that’s happened a lot throughout the year almost. It’s been like a little year, you know. I think for me, like, I think it’s mostly about being, having the LAN experience because that was something I liked before, definitely. Because I basically played whatever you could online and I mean, yeah, I think it’s been really good.
I feel like I really needed that because it’s definitely a whole different environment and also just like, yeah, testing the waters a little bit with higher tier events like the major and also the Thunderpick here in Malta afterwards and whatnot, you know, like trying some different stuff out in that sense.
So it’s definitely been good for my progress as a player mostly and also as a leader, of course. And it’s just like I’ve gained a lot, you know, throughout and hopefully, yeah, with now being in HEROIC, I’ll gain even more of this experience so I can become even better and help my players out even better.
Sophie: Yeah, for sure. I remember the tweet that you put up when you had to play against FalleN and it’s really good to see like how you go from like being a fan to playing against somebody like that. That’s crazy.
From standing in line to get an autograph to now playing the man himself on Lan is a Dream come true. Hoping for more moments like this in the future.
With that being said we sadly lost 0-2 vs. @FURIA, ggwps 👊💪

Chr1zN: But it was a crazy experience and hopefully, you know what, maybe I get to test FalleN again at some point throughout this event here, you know.
Sophie: Yeah, for sure. Yeah, absolutely. So as I say you guys are a very new roster, but there is an existing relationship on the team already right between Nilo and susp.
Chr1zN: I mean I think the previous team also like with xfl0ud, Nilo and Alkaren now of course yxngstxr being a substitute, I think they did a very good job also at like having bonded like earlier. You could feel definitely that they had spent a lot of time together, you know, and also made sure to be good with each other because for me it feels very natural to like come in and be a part of the group. It doesn’t feel like we have to force anything. Yeah, there isn’t like this awkward tension between anyone and I think for Nilo and susp, so yeah, like them, they go like very far back, you know, and I’ve played a lot like throughout the years and whatnot.
I think they’re also like, you can feel they’re good with each other, you know, and I think that kind of affects the whole team as well. So, no, I just think it’s very good. I think they’re also very good at, like, what’s it called? Like, even though they have this like prior relationship and now have it within the team, they’re good at keeping, let’s say, like inside jokes and whatnot separated, you know, so it doesn’t become this, like, awkward space where we are kind of grouped up in different sections and whatnot. But we are one big team, so it’s really good. And I think it’s definitely to our advantage.
Sophie: Yeah, I mean, definitely at this event. Right. You guys haven’t dropped a map yet, I don’t think.
Chr1zN: No.
Chr1zN: I think, of course, we have a little bit of an edge in the sense that we haven’t played at all. So, like, it’s hard for teams to really prepare for what we want to do.
But then again, we had to play with a stand in, so a lot of the things we had prepared kind of had to get reintroduced. We had to even, like, rethink some of it. So I think that kind of gave us a little bit of an advantage. And I also think just like the way I like to play the game, we play very, like, slow and calculated. And I think against opponents where we played a team who maybe is a bit more like, I want to say, like also inexperienced at the level, you know. And also afterwards a whole new team, I think that can come into it, gives us a lot of opportunities, at least throughout the games to close them out because we make them do the mistakes instead of us. So, yeah, I think that benefits us and hopefully it continues like this throughout the tournament and we end up with a trophy.
Sophie: Yeah, I mean, we can certainly hope so. Yeah, that would be great. So I just had one last question for you. Obviously there have been quite a lot of changes at HEROIC over the last 12 months.
Chr1zN: I mean, I hope that we could stay together for as long as possible and really try to get better with each other. I feel like we have a really strong team and like, there’s some. There’s really good personalities within. So I think with time and if we just trust the process, we’re also going to go very far. You we are very, like, fresh out of the gate, and I feel like we’re already playing and showing a pretty solid level. So hopefully if we just continue on this path, it’s gonna be really good for the future.
Sophie: Yeah, absolutely. Okay, great. Well, thank you so much for your time today, and good luck in the tournament.
Chr1zN: Thank you. Appreciate it.
