The ALGS Championship 2023 is set to begin on September 6. The biggest tournament of the Apex Legends season will bring the top forty teams from across the globe to Birmingham, England for a chance at the $2,000,000 dollar prize pool. Only one team will be leaving with the most prestigious prize in Apex Legends, the ALGS Championship trophy. Here is everything you need to know to keep up with the tournament.
ALGS Championship Schedule and Format
The ALGS Championship begins on September 6 at 5:15 AM ET / 2:15 AM PT. The first day features the Group Stage. The 40 teams are split into four groups of 10. Each group will play three six-game series (18 games) in a round robin against every other group.
The Group Stage is split into two days, the latter of which is on September 7 at 5:15 AM ET / 2:15 AM PT. The 20 teams with the highest total score at the end advance to the winners’ bracket, while the bottom 20 fall to the losers’ bracket.
The losers’ bracket round one takes place on September 8 at 11:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM PT. The bracket stage ups the total games per series from six to eight. The top 10 teams at the end of the series advance to losers’ round two. The bottom 10 are eliminated.
The winners’ bracket and the losers’ round two are set for September 9 at 7:00 AM ET / 4:00 AM PT. The first series of the day pits the top 20 teams from the Group Stage against each other. The top 10 advance directly to the Finals with bonus points, while the bottom 10 play in losers’ round two. After losers’ round two concludes, the top 10 teams will advance to the Finals while the bottom 10 are eliminated.
The ALGS Championship Finals take place on September 10 at 11:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM PT. The final 20 teams will play a Match Point series for the title. A team must reach 50 points to become “match point eligible.” Once a team hits 50, they must win a game to claim the ALGS trophy. There is no limit to the amount of match point eligible teams, or total games played.
