2XKO Early Access – Available for free on PC

The early access comes two weeks after the beta release, which gave a new wave of players a first taste of Riot’s own FGC. The game won’t require any access code and will see the introduction of the 10th playable champion, which will have a gameplay trailer and developer update released closer to launch. It will also come with a structure progression system and a Battle Pass.

All progress and content unlocked during the Early Access will be permanently tied to the players’ accounts and Riot has confirmed it won’t reset when the game launches. Players will also be able to explore the “Combo Trials”, a mode that allows players to learn the game step-by-step and master the champions‘ combos across several difficulty levels.

Riot also unveiled that starting in 2026, there will be a total of five seasons per year, with each one coming with the release of a new champion and more exclusive content to keep the game refreshing.

First Impact – the initiative to support 2XKO grassroots esports

The game publisher also introduced First Impact, an initiative focused on growing 2XKO‘s esports ecosystem. Similar to other fighting games, Riot will be giving direct funding to 22 tournaments, both LAN and online, across North America, Europe, and Asia before the end of the year. Each tournament will feature an additional prize pool, with the winning duos earning an extra $2,5000 and claiming the exclusive “Local Legend” in-game title. Riot Games has also shared that it will gather feedback from tournament organisers for its 2026 esports plans.

The first tournament to receive First Impact’s support is the Evo France: 2 NICE KO by The MixUp in Nice, France, and will end with FlyQuest’s 2XKO Christmas Clash on December 13.
