Who Will Win Game Changers Champions 2024? – MIBR vs. SR

We’re almost at the end of the Game Changers Championship 2024 and I for one have enjoyed every minute of it. Few other games give women’s esports the treatment it deserves like VALORANT and now I think we’re going to have one hell of a grand finals.

MIBR will be going up against Shopify Rebellion at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin tomorrow at 3pm UK / 4pm CET / 10am ET / 7am PT.

Semi finals match up: G2 vs MIBR

After being knocked down to the lower bracket by Shopify Rebellion in the semi finals, G2 Gozen had their work cut out for them against MIBR. I actually thought this series wouldn’t be easy, but wouldn’t be as difficult as it was.

G2 made them work for it but MIBR managed to take a decisive 13-9 victory in game one on Abyss. But MIBR’s second map pick of Bind is where they really came alive, holding G2 down an insane 10-2 with at least one flawless round under their belt.

G2 definitely made a bit of a comeback and even held MIBR on match point for several rounds but it was too much for them in the end. MIBR took the victory 2-0 and deservedly so. They just played the better Val on the day.

But it seems history was doomed to repeat itself. MIBR showed up so hard on map 3 in a way that really put G2 on the back foot. MIBR’s IGL Sayuri had one of the best performances of this roster’s career. The team has proved why they deserve to be in the finals with SR.

Before coming into the semi finals today, I thought I’d be writing a very different article. I thought this would be a relatively quick victory for G2 Gozen and we’d finally get them in the finals after last year’s crushing defeat to Team Liquid Brazil. Their performance has been dominant this year and with Petra on the server, it’s easy to see why.

Shopify Rebellion are the defending champions and anyone going up against Florescent, meL and the rest of the team should be quaking in their boots at least a little bit. This team has unbelievable synergy and whatever they’ve done to prepare, it just works. But no one is infallible and stranger things have happened in VALORANT.

MIBR GC have had a bit of a rougher go at it this tournament but they’re nonetheless intimidating. After being knocked down to the lower bracket by G2 Gozen just a couple of days ago in the upper bracket semi finals but they already managed to exact their revenge and didn’t have to sweat too much to do it.

As with all grand finals, it’s hard to call. I love an underdog story but I really do think Shopify deserve to go the way and lift the trophy once again.
