SR Florescent Delivers Masterclass at Game Changers Championship

Shopify Rebellion are currently defending their title at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship and they’re doing it with the help of last year’s MVP Ava “florescent” Eugene.

SR are currently making their way through the upper bracket and faced off against Xipto in the upper bracket semi finals. Flor wasn’t ready to go down without a fight and she really put on a masterclass display.

2.3 KD on Pearl

Just going to go ahead and say that again, Flor ended map 1 with a 2.3 KD. She made hitting 2 kills with just one bullet look easy. With a skillset like hers, it’s easy to see why she’s so happy to run things down and get right up in the opponent’s face.

But of course, it’s not all about one player. Where Flor fell, meL, alexis, Noia and sarah were there to pick things up. This whole roster has been playing together for almost a year to the day and the amount of experience shows. Finding that synergy to be able to design how a round plays out is no mean feat but it’s something SR achieved time and again.

Xipto didn’t exactly make things easy for the defending champions and even took a decent lead on map 2. But once SR went onto the attackers, Flor and the rest came alive. They may have evened up the scoreline to 8-8 in round 16 but Xipto almost forced them to overtime, closing it out in the final round of regulation time.

It was nail biting and it just goes to show how much a good team can adapt to a difficult situation. Xipto really showed what they’re made of and there’s nothing to say they won’t have their chance at revenge in the finals. Xipto will have to face KRU Blaze in the lower bracket quarterfinals next.

The grind is real

In her post match interview, Noia talked a little about the advantage of playing with the roster for such a long time. When talking about her teammate sarah, Noia had to say “I’ll say one word and it’s a keyword and she’ll know exactly what to do”.

Zero off days has paid off so far, but there’s still a couple of obstacles in their way before the finals of VALORANT Game Changers Championship.

Shopify Rebellion will need to go on to face G2 Gozen in the upper bracket finals to decide who will be the first team to reach the grand finals on Sunday. These two titan teams will face off on Friday, with all of the action on the official VALORANT Twitch account.
