VALORANT is introducing Shotcall, a Twitch extension that allows fans to make real-time predictions during the official VCT matches.
The announcement was made yesterday through an official Riot blog post. Starting on August 8, the Twitch extension will be added to the VCT Americas Stage 2 broadcast, where fans will be able to predict live match moments and compete against other VCT fans. Nailing the predictions will make fans earn points and climb the leaderboard.
Currently, the extension will only be available on desktop and according to Riot, it will be made available to other leagues in other languages in the future.
The extension will be put to use every Friday of this month:
VCT fans must tune into one of the three official VCT Americas Stage 2 broadcasts on Twitch to try out the extension. There will be a Shotcall overlay on the video player, with a red crystall ball icon appearing on the top left corner of the screen. There, you can log in with your Riot ID to join the game. You can predict the upcoming map, round, or clutch scenario. Predictions will fly out over the video when the extension is minimized. With that, you are set to play and earn points.
During the beta tests, Riot has stated it will give users one reward across the four test days. The offering, however, will be expanded in the future.
VCT (VALORANT Champions Tour) is VALORANT’s global competitive esports tournament series organised by Riot Games. Currently split into four regions (Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China), the top teams from each regional league meet at the two Masters events and the year-end tournament, VALORANT Champions. This year, the competition will be taking place in Paris from September to October.
