It was inevitable that Embark Studios would add a crossover eventually, and it’s here already, as players can earn an Arc Raiders The Finals Skin. If you get the prompt in-game during Arc Raiders, you’ll be told to download The Finals to earn the new skin; however, it’s a little bit more involved than that, though still very easy. It’s worth noting that the skin is a recolour of the Ryder outfit, however, the backpack and charm are new.
Arc Raiders has been a massive success for Embark Studios since its release, with peak players on Steam in the hundreds of thousands. With the release of the game’s Cold Snap update on December 16th, Embark Studios decided to remind everyone that they also make a really cool FPS, which we here love. The quest is easy to do, and if you don’t care about The Finals, it will take you at most an hour to complete once the game is downloaded.
Note: A number of players are reporting that the skin is not working after an initial wave of people appeared to have got the skin. We’ll update this post with more info; however, you will get the skin, the delivery of it just seems to be having issues.
Update: The skins now seem to be being sent out. Check your in-game mail to claim the skins.

For those not in the know, Embark Studios has another pretty cool game called The Finals. We recently released an article about why you should play The Finals, so there’s that. Now, you have another reason to do it, earning a skin set in Arc Raiders, Embark’s very popular new extraction shooter that we also love.
To earn the skin is fairly simple; thankfully, you just need to do the following:

If you want to get it done quickly, just play Quick Cash, as that is the fastest game mode in the new Season 9 update, and you will get your three games done in no time at all. For those who play The Finals and not Arc Raiders, well, you’ll get a nice 4000 XP quest completed for no extra effort at all, and if you ever do play Arc Raiders, then you have a nice skin waiting for you on the other side.
The new skins, well, the outfit is actually a recolour, but still, are as follows:

It’s not just a skin that players will earn; you’ll also get a new backpack and backpack Charm to go with it. Given the skins in Arc Raiders, currently, these are nice for people who like a less “over the top” aesthetic. The red might make you a bit of a target in the current Cold Snap update, however, so bear that in mind when taking it out on one of the new winter maps.
The rest of the set is nice, and it’s always good to get a few extra backpack options, as those have been fairly limited unless you spend Store Credits. As for the Charm, these are always nice, though we’d rather it were called a Football Finals Ticket, but we can’t have everything we want in life.
This new crossover is a great thing to see, despite some of the initial issues with its delivery to players. We always knew the two games would see some sort of event at some point, and this is pretty much the type of thing we expected to see. The Finals is a great game, and it’s the sort of game where you need to play it to get it, so having people move from one of your games to another is smart. Sure, it might mean you cannibalise your own users, but the two games are so different, so it’s probably fine.
It will be interesting to see if we see a reverse event come to The Finals at some point, though we doubt Arc Raiders is in any need of a lot of new players to join the game for now. Also, as Arc Raiders is a paid game, it’s less likely to see such an event with The Finals being free to play. The skins we get are good at least, though the character skin is just a recolour of one of the default skins, it’s good to see new customisation options come to the game for free.
