Street Fighter 6 is definitely the stand out of its generation of fighters, surpassing Tekken 8 and MK 1. But how many people play Street Fighter 6 today? The game’s player count has obviously fluctuated quite a bit since launch. But with extra characters and updates like extra skins, the Street Fighter 6 player count is still looking very strong! This is how it looks in 2025:
As of Summer 2025, roughly 30,000 people are playing Street Fighter 6 at any one time. With its typical daily peaks being just above 32,000. That’s down from an all-time peak of 70,000 players. But most fighting games tend to have player numbers like this. Looking at the Steam charts, Street Fighter more active still than other fighters released around the same time. Tekken 8 typically gets around 6-7,000 players a day. Peaking at 46,000. Mortal Kombat 1 rarely breaks 2,000 players and peaked at 26,000.
Street Fighter 6 still has a very strong player count on PC. A lot of players jump in regularly and it has maintained a decent level of interest. The Street Fighter 6 player count has held up well. It’s also seen a boost from extra characters being released as DLC. The Capcom Cup becoming one of the biggest esports events hasn’t hurt either, along with other tournaments like the EWC. It’s still got one of the most active player bases.
Most fighting games have players outside of PC though. What about how many people play Street Fighter 6 on consoles?
Console players numbers are much harder to determine. While players can pull the Steam live numbers, console doesn’t release this kind of data. We don’t know how many active players are on Street Fighter 6. However, we know it has overall passed 5 million units sold. Which includes potential players on PC.
This probably isn’t the active player count number though. A lot of players drift in and out over time. But it does seem like there’s still a decent Street Fighter 6 player count across platforms. Matchmaking on most platforms still seems healthy, so there’s no indication the game is dying off in on any platforms.
With tournaments like EVO being played on PlayStation, we can likely see the real answer to how many people play Street Fighter 6 is higher. But we can’t tell how much higher than the PC numbers it goes.
Street Fighter 6 probably has a few good years still left it in it. As long as the meta continues to evolve with new characters and Street Fighter esports remains so captivating, we could see the player count hold up too.
And stay up to date on all the latest trends in esports
