The Esports World Cup Foundation has revealed the 40 esports organizations accepted into its $20 million EWCF Club Partner Program for 2025, described as “an industry-leading initiative designed to promote the sustainable growth of esports organizations. Participating clubs will receive “up to $1 million in funding to expand their brand and grow their global audience through innovative content and marketing campaigns leading up to and throughout the Esports World Cup 2025.”
The 40 teams were selected out of nearly 200 applications, having gone through a “rigorous evaluation process.” According to the Esports World Cup Foundation, these teams “represent a diverse and dynamic cross-section of global esports, spanning legacy organizations, rising stars and global powerhouses that collectively define the rich history and the rapidly evolving future of the industry.”
The latest iteration of the EWCF Club Partner Program is an expansion from 2024, when it featured 30 teams. This time around, there has been a distinctive focus on global growth via regions such as China, Latin America, Japan, and India. With the expansion of the EWCF Club Partner Program, we’re getting to see tons of new teams involved this time around, the most notable including the likes of MOUZ, Sentinels, and Team Spirit. Some teams aren’t returning from 2024, including Guild Esports, OG, and Spacestation Gaming.
Now, the road to the Esports World Cup 2025 begins. More than 20 of the biggest esports titles in the world will be present at the EWC 2025 later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, offering tens of millions in prize money for the victors. It should be clarified that “A Club’s participation in the program does not guarantee a spot at the Esports World Cup 2025. All Clubs are required to qualify through official qualification pathways to earn their spot in each game’s EWC tournament.” Let the games begin.
