Round 4 of Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage came to its conclusion, as three more teams, LCK’s Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports, as well as LEC’s G2 Esports, have qualified for the top 8 Knockout Stage of the tournament. On the other side of the equation, three more teams, LTA’s 100 Thieves and Vivo Keyd Stars, as well as APAC’s Team Secret Whales, faced elimination from the tournament, as they accrued three losses in the Swiss Stage.

Another LPL legend, Su “xiye” Han-Wei, took the stage for the Round 5 group draw, and with the final three matchups for the Swiss stage, here’s how the community reacted to the draw.

BLG vs TES – The LPL Civil War

One of the final Swiss stage matchups has two LPL teams, Bilibili Gaming and Top Esports, competing in a final Best of 5 for a spot in the quarterfinals. As expected, most of the LPL fans, both in the crowd and online, were disappointed that one of these teams would be sent home by one another on home turf.

So how did the non-LPL fans react to the draw? Former world champion and currently a streamer signed under T1, Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, had the most hilarious reaction to the LPL team kill matchup.

T1 vs MKOI – #T1WIN

When xiye drew the second ball and confirmed the LPL matchup, the other two matchups were automatically confirmed due to the Swiss stage ruleset stating that no team may play the same team twice. The community seems in consensus that the defending world champions will take a convincing victory over Movistar KOI, especially due to Europe’s lackluster international performance so far.

Even one of the biggest T1 haters in the community, Christian “IWDominate” Rivera, hilariously predicted them to move on to the knockout stage while praying for their demise. All in one social media post.

CFO vs FLY – NA’s Last Hope

This matchup had the community divided. Some said that FlyQuest had the best draw that they could’ve possibly asked for, while others predicted CFO to take the series.

Both sides of the argument require some context to fully understand. FlyQuest’s roster has proven that at their peak, they can compete with the best in the world, while CFO has also surprised many with their tournament run so far, as not only have they taken the Best of 1 upset over T1, their Swiss stage losses against two tournament favorites, AL and HLE, also looked competitive in nature.

In a post-game interview with the player that the community thinks of as the breakout star of Worlds 2025, 100 Thieves’ top laner Niship “Dhokla” Doshi, hilariously had this to say about this match: “If FlyQuest loses, they have to swim home.”
