The stage is set for a clash of champions as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH S16) Playoffs are running from October 22 to 26, 2025, featuring six of the nation’s best MLBB teams vying for the title and a ticket to the M7 World Championship.

MPL PH S16 Playoffs: Clash of Different Eras

After an unpredictable regular season, fans are in for another week of high-stakes action and mostly their redemption stories.

MPL PH S16 Format and Qualified Teams

This season’s playoffs format is still the same with the previous seasons having a Play-in round on the first day to determine the top 4 to compete in a double elimination format. The top two seeds, Aurora Gaming and ONIC Philippines, earned direct entry into the Upper Bracket Semifinals, while Team Liquid PH, Twisted Minds PH, TNC Pro Team, and Team Falcons PH must first survive the Play-In Round.

All matches are best-of-five (Bo5), except for the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which will push players to their limits in a best-of-seven (Bo7) format.

The six teams in contention are:

  • Aurora Gaming (RORA) – The #1 seed, regular-season dominator, and favorite to win it all.

  • ONIC Philippines (ONIC) – The #2 seed, looking for their world title defense as current M-Series world champions.

  • Team Liquid PH (TLPH) – The #3 seed, on their way to the Golden Road of MLBB.

  • Twisted Minds PH (TWIS) – The #4 seed, rookies proving to be a force to be reckoned with.

  • TNC Pro Team (TNC) – The #5 seed, this season’s most unpredictable dark horse.

  • Team Falcons PH (FLCN) – The #6 seed, titans in their own rights who have narrowly secured a playoffs run

Play-In Round: The First Step to a New Era

The action begins with Team Liquid PH (#3) facing Team Falcons PH (#6), and Twisted Minds PH (#4) clashing with TNC Pro Team (#5) on the second match. Both series are packed with tension, as even the slightest mistake meant elimination. Team Falcons faced Team Liquid in their last match in the regular season and had the most crucial win to enter the playoffs.

They are faced once again as fate dictates their destiny on who will advance. On the other hand, the dark horses of the league are facing against each other as Twisted Minds PH’s rookies first run can match against the rebuilt team of TNC Pro Team. Whoever wins in both matches will punch their tickets to the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

Upper Bracket Semifinals: Titans Collide

Waiting in the semifinals were Aurora Gaming and ONIC Philippines, two of the most consistent forces in the MPL. Aurora entered the playoffs riding an incredible regular-season record, defined by near-perfect team chemistry and smart map control. ONIC PH, meanwhile, aimed to reclaim their spot atop the league with a roster brimming with experience and confidence.

These matches not only decide who secures a Grand Final buffer but also set the tone for which first squad will carry the region’s banner to the M7 World Championship.

The Lower Bracket Run

Teams that fall from the upper bracket aren’t done yet — they’ll fight through the Lower Bracket, where every series is a do-or-die scenario. The Lower Bracket Final, set for October 25, will be a grueling Bo7, with the winner advancing to the Grand Final on October 26. Both Grand Finalists will also secure their coveted slots for M7, representing the Philippines on the world stage.

The Road to M7

MPL Philippines Season 16 has already rewritten the region’s storylines. With two world championship spots on the line, the stakes have never been higher. In a region that has long set the global standard, these playoffs will decide who carries the legacy forward into M7.
