Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage Draws

After the draws from Jiejie and Baolan, it was Crisp’s turn to make the Swiss stage draws as the stakes keep getting higher. Anyone’s Legend and KT Rolster were the two surprises at Worlds 2025, having locked in the Knockout stage with two 3-0 records, completely annihilating all expectations. PSG Talon and Fnatic have been officially eliminated from the tournament.

Korean representatives Gen.G and HLE are currently with a 2-1 record, alongside LPL’s Top Esports, LCP’s CFO, and the Western teams G2 Esports and FlyQuest.

The G2 vs FLY matchup is the best outcome for Western fans as one of the two will be guaranteed a win and get to the Knockout stage with a 3-1 record. The other one is also set to have a good chance of coming out of the Swiss stage if they happen to get a good draw in the 2-2 bracket.

There are no regional matches in the upper bracket, with Gen.G facing Top Esports, and HLE facing CFO, who has been performing way above the expectations.

In the 1-2 record, fans won’t get to see the anticipated Worlds Final rematch between BLG and T1. The Chinese team will go up against the Brazilian squad VKS, who managed to survive their elimination series against PSG Talon.

T1, on the other hand, will be going against the other LTA squad 100 Thieves. Europe got a good draw as MKOI faces Team Secret Whales. Considering the squad could’ve faced BLG or T1, facing the Vietnamese squad is a much better outcome, although it must not be underestimated.

Which teams are expected to join the top 8?

Based on recent performances, the level of play shown by the 2-1 teams is quite leveled. The EU-NA battle between FLY and G2 could go either way and it will mainly come down to the team’s ability to make the most of the Fearless Bo3 format. FLY has shown better early gameplay but G2 has been ramping up and can utilize picks like the Anivia-Poppy combo to surprise the opponents.

For Gen.G and TES, this one is probably in the LCK team’s favor. Not only do Gen.G perform better in Best-of-series, but TES has struggled a little bit when things don’t go their way and the mental can affect them.

HLE and CFO is a 50-50 matchup. We don’t think we saw CFO’s max potential when they swapped their top laners and HLE has had visible ups and downs. Typically, best-of-series will give a better edge to the Korean teams, which are used to playing teamfight situations more consistently.

As for the 1-2 teams, BLG and T1 are expected to have the upper hand over the LTA opponents, although it may not be an easy ride as some people expect. MKOI will be put to the test against TSW, who are equally good when it comes to early proactivity and skirmishing: the series against FNC wasn’t as convincing and it should be a wake up call for the squad.
