Over the years, many teams have left their mark on Worlds. But consistently staying at the top of their region, and managing to qualify year after year, is already a huge achievement. So, which teams have the most Worlds appearances in history?

The four teams with the most Worlds appereances
#4 – T1 (9.5)
Yes, while T1 are by far the most decorated organization in Worlds history, they are not the most frequent attendees. In fact, the Korean powerhouse doesn’t even crack the top 3… at least not yet. Their tally currently sits at 9.5 Worlds appearances, as Faker and his team still need to defeat Invictus Gaming in the play-in stage to secure their spot to the Swiss stage this year. That showdown is set for October 14.

Still, the dynasty T1 has built proves you don’t need to attend every edition to cement your place in history — you just need to make the most out of it when you’re there. This ratio only makes their achievement even greater. The team has missed three editions (2014, 2018, and 2020) and began their Worlds journey in 2013. Most impressively, T1 have never finished worse than semifinals in their nine appearances: 5 championships, 2 finals, and 2 semifinals. Chasing perfection, simply put.
#3 – Cloud9 (10)
Compared to their peers, Cloud9 haven’t found the same success in qualifying recently. The North American giants will miss Worlds 2025, after already failing to qualify last year. Yet before this slump, C9 had been one of the most consistent teams in the region’s history: since their founding in 2013, they had only missed a single edition—Worlds 2020. They quickly bounced back, though, as in 2021, with Perkz in the midlane, Cloud9 stood as the only Western team to reach the quarterfinals.

#2 – Samsung/Gen.G (11)
Samsung remains the only team besides T1 to have lifted the Summoner’s Cup twice. Across their history, they took part in four editions, missing only 2015. Since their rebranding in 2018, however, Gen.G have struggled to live up to expectations at Worlds. Despite five LCK titles, two MSI trophies, and one at the EWC, they have yet to reach a Worlds final. They’ve only missed a single edition, in 2019, but their most notable runs ended in two semifinals—both times crushed by the eventual champions: DRX in 2022, and T1 last year. On each occasion, Gen.G entered the tournament after a near-perfect season, seen as the clear favorite. This year, once again, Chovy and his teammates arrive having swept everything since Spring. Could this finally be the year?

#1 – Fnatic (13)
While Fnatic can be criticized for some of their structural decisions and their lack of ambition in recent years, the team has been flawless when it comes to securing a spot at Worlds. This year, once again, despite being labeled as underdogs against Karmine Corp in Madrid, they dominated the Blue Wall when it mattered most, clinching their 13th Worlds appearance. The Orange and Black have only missed two editions, in 2012 and 2016. They also won the very first Worlds in 2011, and later reached the 2018 final, where they suffered Europe’s heartbreak in a 3-0 loss to Invictus Gaming.
