Now that we have finally gotten the full preview by Riot, here’s what to expect from the next update, Patch 25.23, in League of Legends.
Worlds has just finished and we saw T1 win their third consecutive championship, the first ever in LoL esports history. An incredible five-game series saw Faker and his teammates crown victorious over KT Rolster, the surprising underdogs from this year’s world championship.
While pros played on Patch 25.20 over the past month, Riot Games has been continuously working on bringing new updates, and has recently unveiled the preview for the second-to-last update of the season, Patch 25.23.
The big thing to stand out is Riot’s intention of bringing more junglers into the game, giving several champions bonus monster damage to make them viable, hence why you’ll see a long list of buffs in this update.
Aside from that, we had a couple of key nerfs that are set to impact the overall meta, especially in the bottom lane. Below you can find all the numbers as well as our considerations on how the meta will shift.
Remember that the newest champion and last champion for the 2025 season, Zaahen, will also be hitting the live servers once Patch 25.23 is out.

It will be a huge patch in terms of changes, especially given the number of key nerfs coming in this update. The bot lane meta will have a major shift since Neeko is finally getting hit with the hammer and won’t be an oppressive support pick, especially in high Elo.
The same can be said about Caitlyn and paired with the nerfs to Kai’Sa, Jinx, and Ashe, we’re set to see a meta shift in the bottom lane. Jhin, Miss Fortune, Xayah, Zeri, and Tristana all got some love so we will have to see if any of those will spike up in popularity. I’m mainly looking at Jhin and MF as they seem to work across most Elos of the ranked ladder.

Aside from those, the additional damage to monsters on most champions will be interesting to see how they play out. My focus will be mianly directed at Malphite, Ornn, and Aatrox, as they can be easily flexed between jungle and top and could be great if you need strong skirmishing or engage options on your team. The Skarner buffs also seem good so expect his play rate to go up as well.
In the mid lane, Ahri and Swain are getting some buffs, but I doubt that will be enough to push them in top-tier territory.
According to the official patch schedule, the League of Legends Patch 25.23 will go live on November 19, 2025. After this update, there will be only another patch before the season ends.
