Chinese team Weibo Gaming (WBG) has officially announced the signing of top laner Tang “Zika” Hua-Yu and jungler Zhao “Jiejie” Li-Jie for the upcoming 2026 season.

Weibo Gaming picks up a coach from South Korea

The announcements, which came on Thursday through a post on Weibo, also unveiled the new head coach Shin “Shine” Dong-wook, previously of Hanwha Life Esports, who will be leading the team next season.

For jiejie, this is the third roster he will be playing on over the past two years, after his previous experiences on Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix. With the latter officially exiting the LPL, Jiejie arguably found a stronger team that can potentially compete for top spots.

Zika, on the other hand, joins after three years spent on LNG Esports and two Worlds appearances, finishing in the top eight on both occasions. Unfortunately, the team had an extremely disappointing 2025 campaign, often spent in the bottom pack of the league.

Weibo Gaming could be a potential top team in the LPL next season

With jiejie and Zika officially on the roster, Weibo Gaming only has one more player to confirm before finishing its 2026 lineup. Even though mid laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao had his contract expire earlier last month, he’s set to re-sign with the team again as the fifth member.

The bot lane will be made by Shi “Erha” Xu-Ye and Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao, who landed on WBG after BiliBili Gaming picked up Viper during the offseason. While it may not be the strongest team on paper, Weibo Gaming has put together a strong roster of domestic talents with the hopes of delivering a stronger result compared to 2025, which saw them finish in the top six at the end of the season.

The new roster will make its first appearance next month when the new season kicks off with the LPL Split 1.
