After three years with Hanwha Life Esports, Viper is going back to the LPL on BiliBili Gaming, in what could be the most important roster move of the LPL offseason.

Viper joins BiliBili Gaming for 2026

Viper wants glory once again

With Gumayusi joining HLE, the Korean ADC became one of the hottest players available on the market. That said, the spots on the top LCK teams were pretty much all taken over as T1 picked up Peyz, while Ruler is still contracted to Gen.G until 2027.

The few options left in the Korean league meant that Viper had to look elsewhere and he decided to BLG, who also needs to find glory again after a disappointing end to the 2025 season.

Is Viper the player BLG needed?

Viper is replacing Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao, who is set to join Weibo Gaming next year. On paper, this can be an upgrade in the long term, while for the short term, a lot will depend on the synergy between Viper and ON.

Viper is known for having a wide and versatile champion pool, as well as having one of the greatest carry potentials in the LCK. His risk-averse playstyle can act as the late-game threat BLG often needs in the late-game fights whenever the team is unable to win through the early game. Bin and Knight are known for their laning prowess, and with Xun returning to the team, BLG can find better proactivity through him and ON.

The one thing is that with this move and last year’s addition of Shad0w to the roster, BLG has clearly said goodbye to the idea of fielding a full Chinese roster to lift the Summoner’s Cup. They came extremely close at the end of 2024, but since then, the LPL has struggled to match their LCK counterparts.

For Viper, Viper is hoping that his return to the LPL can work out as it did in 2021, when he lifted the world championship with EDward Gaming. Even though the competition against the LCK teams is high, it’s clear that BLG is set to be one of the main title contenders in the LPL.
