T1 announced the acquisition of their newest botlaner, Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan. He will be replacing their long-time botlaner, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung, after his seven-year tenure with T1 and achieving his three-peat Worlds victory with the team.

T1 Welcomes Peyz As Gumayusi’s Replacement, Until 2028

Peyz joins T1 with a strong record despite his young age

Peyz first made his name known with Gen.G back in 2023 after spending a few years with the organization’s academy team. As the 2023 LCK Rookie of the Year, he was the youngest botlaner to win an LCK title, at just 17 years old. He’s also part of the elite group of players, “Royal Roaders”, a title earned after he won his rookie split in LCK Spring 2023. Additionally, his accolades in the LCK, such as being named Finals MVP (in Spring 23), Player of the Split (Summer 24), and multiple all-pro team appearances, made him one of the biggest breakout prospects in the LCK.

After his tenure with Gen.G, he joined JD Gaming for the 2025 season. However, his time in the LPL did not go as smoothly as it did in the LCK. Multiple roster changes, which included cycling through three different support players as well as having his head coach replaced, have mired the majority of his season. Ultimately, Peyz failed to qualify for Worlds, where JDG fell to Invictus Gaming 1-3 in the final round of the LPL 2025 Regional Finals.

Now, Peyz has found a new home with T1 until 2028. With T1’s recent three-peat Worlds victory, they prepare a new chapter in 2026, with a different piece of the puzzle that now fills the huge shoes left behind by the three-time World Champion, Gumayusi.
