Tensions were at an all time high as both T1 and KT Rolster stood just a single step before the coveted Summoner’s Cup. With T1 aiming to capture their three-peat Worlds victory and KT Rolster aiming to capture their very first, one final series remained to claim the trophy as their own.
It was no secret that the hype was really behind KT this year, as many in the community compared their near-undefeated run at Worlds 25 to DRX’s legendary run in 2022. However, they also knew to never doubt T1 at Worlds finals, as T1 made it to the finals for the fourth time in a row and looked to add another Worlds trophy to their ever-growing trophy case. As the series culminated led to Silver Scrapes queuing the final game to decide it all, T1 emerged victorious, earning their three-peat championship victory at Worlds and their sixth Worlds title.
Here’s how the community reacted to their victory.
It’s universally agreed that Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is the greatest esports player of all time. With his three-peat, sixth overall Worlds trophy being cemented into his legacy, many in the community just wonder how much more he’ll achieve.
A KR community member pointed out that Faker is now the first player to become a champion in his 10s, 20s, and 30s (This is due to the ‘Korean age’ system, where a baby’s considered one year old at birth and gains age each year on January 1st). Some even joked that Faker will be playing until he’s an old grandpa, as they pointed out how he somehow continues to win championships.

There really is no other team like T1. Many predicted that it would be a tougher journey for T1 this year, as they felt that their new top laner, Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon’s history of inconsistent performance would raise more obstacles for the team. Streamers Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont and Christian “IWDominate” Rivera even promised their viewers that they would go bald if T1 won another Worlds with Doran.

In a previous interview at Worlds 2025, Doran commented how he previously struggled with keeping his mentality in check even after a single loss, but one of the biggest things he’s learned at T1 is how to be mentally stronger. The community praised Doran for how his gameplay reflected his mental growth, and was left thrilled for his very first Worlds trophy.
