With the League of Legends 25.18 Patch Notes being released to the live servers, it’s time to turn our eyes to the next update, LoL Patch 25.19.
Patch 25.18 came with many interesting champion changes, including a couple of nerfs to many of the pro play meta picks. Mid lane mages like Azir, Aurora, Annie, and Galio have been hit, which should help change the pick priority in the mid lane pool.
Aside from those picks, the main highlights are the nerfs to Qiyana, Volibear, and Yunara. The first two have been dominating the jungle tier list in the past two weeks. In particular, Qiyana was also performing well above average in the mid lane, so the nerf was expected. On the other hand, Yunara received a minor nerf now that players have figured out the ADC’s full potential.
Among the buffed champions, we are mainly looking at Jayce, who received more damage on his Q early on. This change could propel him back into relevance among the best top laners, especially in the higher Elos. The other pick worth keeping an eye on is Cassiopeia, who is getting additional mana and increased damage on her E. It won’t make her an S-tier pick, but some can abuse her to solo carry games.
On September 15, Riot Phroxzon detailed the initial preview for the new update. There are many buffs coming to several champions as well as nerfs to Pantheon, Poppy, Sivir, and Corki, who have dominated the pro play meta for quite some time.
According to the Patch 25.19 preview, the goal is to bring more AP junglers in the meta (Brand, Diana, Lillia) and buff up some of the less popular mid lane mages such as Ahri, Syndra, and LeBlanc. Additionally, Mel is also receiving some love after she dropped in popularity since her release. There is also an interesting buff coming to Seraphine as she is considered “a bit underpowered”, according to the game designer.
The planned changes, however, have not been received well by the community, expressing their doubts on changing the same champions: “Why they buffing and nerfing the same 10 champions, these patches are so boring….there are so many champs in the game that deserve attention,” said a user on Reddit.
Another user was concerned about the return of the AP junglers: “No sane people want to play against these 3 (Diana, Brand, and Lillia) in the jungle. At this point, just buff Karthus and Taliyah alongside them so they can be flex picked for 3 roles. Rather than changing Sundered [Sky] and buffing others, allowing non-sundered user bruisers in the jungle in pro, you nerf those who use it and don’t buff others.”

There are many changes that have caught people’s attention and that might define the meta over the next few weeks. The first one is Diana, who is getting more damage on her jungle clear and is expected to make her an S-tier jungler, especially for solo queue. Her monster modifier is getting reverted to the one at the start of the season when she was dominating the meta.
The other main changes are LeBlanc’s buffs, who is already finding a strong footing in solo queue and Jax, who is getting a criminally strong buff on his ultimate. He has always been a good pick across solo queue and pro play and this will likely push him back into top-tier territory.
Excited to see how the ADC buffs will shake up the meta. The positives are the nerfs to Sivir and Corki, especially the former, who has dominated pro play and solo queue for weeks. Lane bullies like Draven and Caitlyn might make a return and will see whether Jinx’s additional rocket range will make her overall laning phase stronger.
While this isn’t going to define the Worlds meta, there will be new champions on the rise from this patch that will likely stay relevant throughout the tournament.
According to the official patch schedule, the League of Legends Patch 25.19 will go live on September 24, 2025.
