What is League of Legends Arena?

LoL Arena was a game mode introduced back in 2023 with the goal of bringing a completely new way to play League of Legends. Unlike traditional 5v5 matches like Summoner’s Rift and ARAM, Arena is the game mode that allows you to team up with one teammate as the two of you enter the battlefield to face other duos.

By focusing on specific duo comps and maximizing the synergy between the two players, Arena is all about constant skirmishing and outplaying the opponents with your mechanical skills. It’s a much faster game mode, with almost no downtime the moment a round starts.

Riot Games always brings new elements to the game mode, requiring players not only to understand the champions but also to find the right synergies, augments, and itemization to maximize the duo’s overall power. With that in mind, here is the League of Legends Arena Tier List, updated to the current Patch 25.15.

LoL Arena Tier List 2025 – Champions List

Our Arena Tier List is based on six tiers (Z, S, A, B, C, D). Here is the full list of champions ranked. Be aware that individual champions don’t always translate to higher chances of victory since augments and duo synergies also matter. That being said, higher tiers generally perform better than lower ones.

The best combinations in LoL Arena Patch 25.15

The current meta in Arena favors big tanks like Cho’Gath, Sion, and Dr. Mundo. Not only are they hard to kill but they also deal massive damage thanks to the Immolate effect on their tank items, which deal damage based on maximum health. While this is getting nerfed in the next Patch 25.16, you still have enough time to abuse these champions if you want to place high in lobbies.

Other champions that work well are either champions with long and reliable crowd control chains like Rell and Galio, or high DPS champions like Master Yi, Jax, and Bel’Veth, with the support of enchanter champions like Zilean and Yuumi. The latter, in particular, is great to gain leads thanks to his passive, granting higher levels and the ability to revive his ally with the ultimate.

  1. Cho’Gath + Rell/Amumu/Galio/Sion/Dr. Mundo/Yasuo/Pantheon
  2. Rell + Dr.Mundo/Cho’Gath/Yasuo
  3. Yuumi + Jax/Master Yi/Bel’Veth/Fizz
  4. Dr. Mundo + Zilean/Rell/Sion/Cho’Gath/Galio

FAQs

1. Does Arena give you XP in League of Legends?

Yes, Arena gives XP, but typically less than the standard 5v5 games. The amount depends on match performance and outcome.

2. What is the highest rank in Arena?

Ranks in Arena are based on Fame levels that map into 5 tiers (Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gladiator) and 9 internal Fame levels.

3. How do I improve my rank in Arena?

The best way to increase your Fame level is by playing the game mode and finishing in the top four of each lobby.

4. Are all champions available in Arena mode?

Yes, all champions can be played in LoL Arena, unless they are disabled for specific reasons (groundbreaking bugs or special events).

5. Can I play Arena mode solo?

Yes, you can play Arena solo, but you will end up getting matched with someone in the lobby. Having communication with your lobby partner will heavily increase chances of victory.
