In the latest dev update, Riot Games has officially confirmed that League of Legends will be going to Demacia for the first part of the 2026 season. Here’s everything you need to know about the new season’s theme.
The winter map will soon be replaced by Demacia, which will come with white and gold colors and it will have a lot of Petricite, a material found in the region. Speaking of Petricite, some champions are expected to receive the seasonal Battle Pass skins, and according to the dev update, champions like Taliyah, Nautilus, Cho’Gath, and Morgana will be getting the new Demacian aesthetics.
If you’re wondering why these champions have been selected, despite not being from Demacia, don’t worry. Riot’s goal was to introduce champions from other regions by using the Demacian look. The only outlier is Morgana, who will receive a Prestige skin, judging by the details shown in the video.
Just like every new season, Riot Games is expected to release a new cinematic in January, and based on what the devs said, we are going back to the “old school Demacia”, hinting at its Golden Age when it was a powerful kingdom where justice and honor were the key values. Other Demacian champions have been confirmed to be part of the cinematic, although it’s still unclear who those will be.
