Faker makes a Cameo appearance on SKZ’s new song ‘Ceremony’

Earlier today, Stray Kids held a press conference at Conrad Seoul to announce the release of their fourth full-length album, KARMA. Before the start of the conference, the music group released the music video for one of the album’s tracks, “CEREMONY“, featuring the members competing as athletes in different sports.

At the end of the video, however, it was the GOAT Faker who took the spotlight, briefly showing him at the computer and then making his signature pose. The song conveys the message of celebrating success after going through periods of hard work and struggles, common to many sports disciplines, but also applicable to esports.

Felix “Felix” Yongbok Lee revealed at the conference how honored they were to have Faker in the latest Stray Kids music video: “Faker filmed our music video while we were on tour. He did a great job, and although I couldn’t meet him in person, I’m grateful and honored. If we get another chance, I’d love to meet him and play games.”

The unexpected crossover took both fandoms by surprise, with the music video already surpassing two million views on YouTube in less than four hours.

League of Legends has been getting closer and closer to mainstream entertainment

Ever since the creation of the virtual K‑pop girl K/DA, League of Legends has had several crossovers with the music world. Several Korean stars, including the likes of Byun Baekhyun, Jay Park, and Kim Hee-chul, have all expressed their love for esports. Baekhyun, in particular, was among the artists who gave their voice to Riot Games’ own virtual music group HEARTSTEEL and performed at the League of Legends World Championship in 2023.
