The League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) made history this weekend as CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) claimed the title of inaugural champions in front of thousands of fans in Da Nang, Vietnam.

CTBC Flying Oyster – A year of domestic dominance
Taking place at the Tien Son Sport Center, the LCP held its Season Finals featuring the top three teams in the league: PSG Talon (PSG), Team Secret Whales (TSW), and CFO. Following the unexpected upset by TSW against PSG in the lower bracket final, it was down to the previous split champions to stop the Vietnamese squad. And they did in dominant fashion.
CFO swept the enemies with a 3-0 victory, showcasing better teamfighting and overall coordination throughout the series. Despite TSW’s best attempt to keep up in the early skirmishes, it wasn’t enough for them to even take one game in the series.
For the LCP champions, this was the best show of strength, as the team has gone undefeated throughout the entire split. The team has been dominating the region all season long and it’s clear they will be the lead representative once again at the international stage of Worlds 2025.

Once again, it was the youngster and star mid laner HongQ who won the Finals MVP, putting on a standout performance that drove his team to victory: “I’m really glad we were able to win 3-0 and become champions,” HongQ said following the match. “I feel all my teammates played very well. There were a lot of fans in the stadium today, and that made the atmosphere very lively.”
A Landmark Event for the LCP
The LCP Finals Weekend, which was presented by a long list of sponsors, including Mastercard, Taiwan Tourism Administration Vietnam, Sony Vietnam, Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Beverage, and Wink Hotels, among others, wasn’t just about the matches. The two-day festival came with an immersive experience featuring game booths, showmatches, and much more.
“Congratulations to CFO on becoming champions, it was well deserved,” said Piotr Pilich, Head of Product, Esports, LCP. “All three teams delivered a spectacular finale to our debut season, and we couldn’t ask for a better show. A big thank you to all the fans who turned up to support, I’m sure the teams felt your energy and fed off it. Now, we look ahead to Worlds, and I’m confident our representatives will make us proud and finish the year strong.”

This was the first-ever LCP Grand Final following the merger of the minor regions. In terms of viewership, the peak number reached was 272,263 during the upset series from TSW against PSG, followed by the grand final series, which peaked at 257,076, according to Esports Charts. The numbers are lower than the previous split (peak of 483,444), but this is also likely caused by the absence of fan-favorite team GAM Esports.
LCP at Worlds 2025
All three teams will now be flying to China in October for Worlds, where they will be facing the top seeds from the LPL, LCK, LEC, and LTA. Having played at First Stand and MSI, CFO is the first-ever team to have qualified for all three international tournaments in a single year since the implementation of the three-split structure. As the LCP’s kings, they will now have to set the bar for the season-end tournament, which kicks off on October 14 with the play-in stage, featuring T1 and the soon-to-be-confirmed LPL #4 seed.
