Even though supports usually have the lowest damage output in the game, the role is indeed the backbone of any team. From setting up vision control to finding engages or peeling the carries, there are several aspects where a skilled support player can make a difference.

Best Supports in LoL Patch 25.18

In the new season, this role has gained even more value as teams now rely on coordinated plays to find opportunities and build advantages. Regardless, the support champion pool is also subject to meta changes, and with that in mind, here are the best supports in Patch 25.18.

Z-tier

  • Nami

The best support of the patch is Nami. She is a must-have champion in your arsenal due to her versatility and general flexibility to be played with many different ADCs. She brings healing, shields, crowd controls and she even boosts your damage. She is one of the few enchanter champions that hasn’t been nerfed over the past few patches and before Riot decides to potentially hit her with the hammer, you should be playing her.

S-tier

  • Thresh
  • Milio
  • Morgana
  • Leona
  • Karma

In the S tier, we have Thresh, Milio, Morgan, Leona, and Karma. The main highlight is the rise of Morgana, who has received some love over the past few patches and is now rising up a bully support that can also be flexed in the jungle. Her crowd controls and AoE damage is a great answer to a meta revolved around short-range champions.

Leona has also gone up in priority as the main tank engage champion alongside Thresh. Expect to see her more often in the coming weeks, especially when paired with popular synergizing champions like Ashe, Jhin, and Kai’Sa.

A-tier

  • Lulu
  • Senna
  • Janna
  • Braum
  • Blitzcrank
  • Sona
  • Rakan

In A-tier, we have similar champions to the S-tier but are generally a tad weaker. Lulu has dropped in priority following the repeated nerfs, making her no longer the go-to enchanter pick.

B-tier

  • Soraka
  • Pyke
  • Alistar
  • Poppy
  • Rell
  • Zyra
  • Bard

Most of these champions are still pretty good, but need to be played with specific ADCs so that they can maximize their synergy. Be aware that the engage supports have been a little bit weaker in recent times so pick them only if you need the engage potential.

C-tier

  • Yuumi
  • Renata Glasc
  • Neeko
  • Pantheon
  • Taric

D-tier

  • Zilean
  • Tahm Kench
  • Nautilus
  • Ashe
  • Seraphine
