What time is the new Fortnite season? Whenever we reach the day that a season is ending, players are eagerly awaiting the next one beginning. But while the date is announced way ahead of time, the new Fortnite season start time isn’t always as clear. Made a bit more confusing since the game has been mixing up its start times lately.
This season of Fortnite arrived early. It was made available to play before downtime even normally begins, essentially meaning an extra night’s time to play. Although, before that, most Fortnite seasons began in the normal early hours of the morning downtime. With the game coming back online around the same time it does from updates. Since we’ve seen the Chapter 6 Season 4 season patch notes released early, are we getting the new season a bit earlier again too?
We do know when the Fortnite downtime is supposed to begin! With that, we have a strong idea about what time is the new Fortnite season available to play.
What Time is the New Fortnite Season?
The current Fortnite season will end on August 7th. But will the new one launch later like some seasons or arrive in the very early hours? The Fortnite downtime is usually a little longer for a new season, but we know when the game is going to go offline. Which gives us a good idea about when it’ll be back. This is when the Fortnite downtime is scheduled this season:
- 10:30 PM PT
- 1:30 AM ET
- 6:30 AM BST
- 7:30 AM CEST
- 3:30 PM AEST
- 2:30 PM JST
The game will likely be back online a couple of hours after the Fortnite downtime begins. 2 hours is typical. Although sometimes it can get extended. Sometimes we’ve seen Fortnite seasons get delayed once the game is offline. But with early patch notes already available, we can probably expect it to come back online in the normal amount of time.
Last Chapter saw one season kicked back quite a bit. It ended up taking a whole extra day, with the game offline the entire time. But those occurrences are pretty rare. It’ll likely be back up within 2-3 hours.
When Can You Play?
As soon as the game is down, the countdown will be on for the time the new Fortnite season begins! We expect to be back in within a few hours. After that, you’ll be able to jump straight back in. provided there’s no major issues.
If a season is crazy popular there can be queue to get back in. But with the player base these days, it’s unlikely to cause any problems. We typically only see queues for bigger launches, like new maps. Not just for a new season.
The next season is seeing bugs take over the island. With a ton of Fortnite collabs like power rangers, not to mention the Global Championship is taking place. Once the downtime is over, players will likely be on as soon as possible. There isn’t much time for prep in the new meta.
