One of the most anticipated events on the calendar for Fortnite is Winterfest! This is a major in-game event, with snow covering the map, special items, and more. But one of the most exciting parts of it is the Fortnite Winterfest free skins. This year we’re expecting two different skins at least, and leakers might have given us an early look at them.
Whenever Fortnite has an event coming up, players get a peek at these from dataminers. Often, they’re found in the game’s files way ahead of the actual release. This time it seems a substantial amount has leaked. We’ve got a clear look at the Fortnite skins coming this season. From the two Fortnite Winterfest free skins to some other cosmetics like a Penguin. We’ve even gotten confirmation that the Winterfest Cabin will be making a return this year.
But it seems there’s a lot more features coming, like new Fortnite collabs. This is what’s coming next:
At the moment, Fortnite players are eagerly waiting the next update. Especially if they’ve tried to use Fortnite XP maps, which has been kind of ruined until the next patch. But it’ll also be when the game adds most of the Winterfest content. Which includes some fun new skins.
These have leaked early! Even if we’re an update away from the actual event, we’ve gotten an early look at the new free Fortnite skins. There are two that have leaked so far and the other cosmetics coming:
The first of the Fortnite Winterfest free skins is a Hamster faced man. This follows in a long tradition of Epic’s character design being essentially taking animal head and sticking it on a person’s body. There’s even one of these in the current Battle Pass, and a ton of older ones.
Of course, the Hamster faced skin is a bit different. This one has a cute Christmas outfit on, including a special Christmas sweater. It’s nice to get a skin for free, even if the animal head thing is getting a bit tired. It’s a way of having a Hamster sized up for Fortnite too.

The next of the Fortnite Winterfest free skin is a new version of the Crash Test Dummy. This one follows an older theme for Winterfest. Taking an existing skin, and making it cold. This one takes the Crash Test Dummy style skin and applies the icy cold pattern to it.
If you haven’t got a Crash Test Dummy skin already, this is a fun addition to the game. Since it’s using a familiar pattern to the older Fortnite free Winterfest skins, there’s plenty of Fortnite pickaxes and other items to match already too.

The skins are the big ones, but this leak includes a few extra items too! We get fa free item each day o Fortnite Winterfest, so they can’t all be skins. There’s also a gold and black pickaxe coming. Plus, a snowman wrap, and a penguin back bling. It’s possible the Penguin could also be a Fortnite sidekick. Although, the art isn’t exactly clear.
There’s more Fortnite cosmetics coming. But it’s only this handful that have leaked so far. There will be more in the item shop too.
That’s the free Fortnite Winterfest skins, but we’re expecting more paid skins. Including some new collabs. These have leaked ahead of time too, so we have a pretty clear idea about what’s coming:
One major Fortnite collab we’ve been expecting is Harry Potter X Fortnite. This will include paid skins that are customizable Hogwarts students. It’ll also likely include a Mythic.
Another Fortnite Winterfest collab we’re expecting is a new version of one of the Fortnite Festival skins. This one will be Miku in a Christmas outfit! We’ve been expecting this for a little while now, but don’t have exact details yet.

Miku isn’t the only Fortnite Icon Series Skin we’re getting a new style o for Christmas. There will also be a Christmas version of Sabrina Carpenter too. This one will likely be in the Item Shop as well, not part of the Fortnite Winterfest free skins.
Those are some of the major collabs we’re expecting. Along with the free skins that are coming. We’re also expecting the Winterfest Cabin to come back to the game. This is a feature that’s been missed in some years, so it’ll be great to see it back in the game. We’re expecting the Winterfest Fortnite update later this month, so keep an eye out for the patch.
