A new Fortnite OG event has started up. This is going to be running just for a little while in the mode, bringing back one of two major weapons. In the past, we’ve had similar events in Battle Royale. It puts the choice into players hands. Letting the Fortnite player base make the decision on how the loot pool will look in the future.
This new event is another shift that could change Fortnite OG from how it originally looked. Since it began, Fortnite OG has mainly been sticking to recreating Chapter 1. Although, with modern additions like movement thrown in. However, some events and other features offer the chance or it to go differently. Not crazy different, but enough to have a one weapon difference in the loot pool. Depending on what the players decide.
We expected the big unvaulting event that’s coming after the season ends to be the first-time players could vote to take a different path. But this Fortnite OG event might allow players to take a different route for Fortnite OG too.
At the moment, voting is open to return one of two Exotic items to the Fortnite OG loot pool! This is how it all works:
Fortnite OG Event Voting Begins
Jump into Fortnite OG right now, and around the map you can find voting boards. These have been featured quite a bit in Battle Royale in past Fortnite seasons. Interact with it, and you can choose to vote between two different items. The Hop Rock Dualies, and the Dub!
The Dub is a heavy hitting shotgun, it’s a common element in the loot pool. Hop Rock Dualies don’t come back as often. These are the dual wield pistols. However, after every shot you get the Hop Rock effect. This is a great mobility tool, lets you zip around.
Players can vote for either one by interacting with the board. At the end, the winner will come back to the loot pool for a brief period.
These votes have often gone a little wrong in the past. At one point, Fortnite streamers had their fans pile in on one choice to make the decision for everyone. Other time, the first choice won every time. Because voting gave you minis so players would just hammer through the dialogue to get their free minis, rather than care about what they vote for.
Both choices could be fun for the Fortnite OG event! Voting won’t be open too long though. We’ll see one of the two items coming back very soon.
The voting works a bit differently this time. Players have to donate materials to get towards the goal. Once enough are there, the weapon will return. We’re still expecting the big unvaulting event at the end of the season too. Last time the drum Gun came back, but things could go differently this time. There might be quite a different OG loot pool eventually.
