What Season is Fortnite on Now?

What season is Fortnite on? We’ve just gone into a brand-new season. Although, it is a mini season. After this, we’ll be moving onto another new Chapter. All of these counts are getting quite high in 2025, since Fortnite has been out for so long.

Lately, the naming conventions for the Fortnite seasons has gotten a little complicated. First, we had just seasons. Which was quite simple, and easy to follow. Until Epic started using roman numerals at times and numbers at others. But then we got Chapters as well. And now, most Fortnite seasons have Chapters and numbers, but others throw it away entirely in favor of titles! This is the answer to what season is Fortnite on and how many we’ve had overall:

What Season is Fortnite on?

Fortnite is currently on a season called Simpsons Mini Season. It’s not quite as clean as Chapter 6 Season 5, or any easier way of explaining where we are! But right now, Epic is using just a term to describe what season is Fortnite on, not any numbered system.

Before this mini season, we were on Chapter 6 Season 4. Although, that didn’t include the Galactic Battle mini season. Which also only had a name to describe it, not a number. Same for Fortnite Remix and OG.

The system for counting what season Fortnite is on gets a bit complicated with these mini seasons. Overall, we’ve had 38 seasons. That includes each of the mini seasons… Only the first ten Fortnite seasons were easy to track though. Since then, we’ve had Chapters to keep track of too.

What Chapter is Fortnite on?

Fortnite’s season count only really goes up to four these days, since we move to a new Chapter each year! The Fortnite Chapters are a bigger way of dividing up the seasons. These largely coincide with the launch of new maps. Although, the current Fortnite season has its own special map for some reason.

We’re currently in Chapter 6 of Fortnite, kind of. It is technically finished, but it’s the easiest Chapter to use as a label for this mini season. It’ll move over to Chapter 7 pretty quickly though.

In Chapter 7, we’ll likely see another brand new Fortnite map. After about 4 seasons on the last one and a mini season on this one. We’re already getting teases for this Chapter! That’s what chapter is Fortnite on right now.

What Season is Fortnite On in OG?

Battle Royale isn’t the only Fortnite game mode with seasonal counts anymore. OG is running back through the Chapter 1 seasons. Right now, it’s on Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6. We’ve moved through most of Chapter 1, and expect to arrive in Chapter 2 next year. That’s still a long way away though, it’ll be a while before the Fortnite season ends in OG.

Fortnite OG is supposed to be running through the entire back catalogue of Fortnite. We’ll have to see what happens when it reaches much newer Fortnite seasons that aren’t really classed as OG.

What Season is Fortnite on in Festival?

Most of the other modes don’t use seasonal systems, since they just updates as and when. But Festival also has a seasonal system!

If you’re wondering what season is Fortnite Festival on, it’s Season 11! It began in October and will run through to the end of November. We don’t have any leaks for what’s coming next yet though. But we’ll know more once early Fortnite leaks for the artist start to appear.
