Is Delulu still in Fortnite? This was a brand-new mode that was added along with proximity chat in Fortnite. But it isn’t around permanently. Or even all week! The new mode is operating on a bit of a weird schedule that has left a ton of players asking did Fortnite remove Delulu.

Is Delulu Still in Fortnite or is it Gone?

The new mode is the most recent addition to Fortnite. It is yet another Battle Royale. This one isn’t different because of its size, or have a unique map like Reload. It is limited to 80 players instead of 100, which helps keep it smaller. The big key feature though is the voice chat. You can team up with other payers and negotiate how you’re going to play the game. But the mode isn’t permanent!

While Delulu currently isn’t planned to last forever, it will last a little longer. This is how it works and why players are asking is Delulu still in Fortnite.

Did Fortnite Remove Delulu?

No. It’s just not turned on right now!

When Fortnite Delulu launched, it had a clear condition on when it’s available. This is a weekend game mode. It’s not available during the week. It’s strictly Friday through Sunday. After that, it goes away for a few days again.

Why exactly have Epic made this a mode only available for a few days a week? Probably because of its impact on the player count. Lately, Epic has been adding tons of new modes. They get a dedicated player base, but largely just pull some players away from Battle Royale. Which now has a tiny player base. Especially for Ranked.

To try and stop Fortnite Delulu making even more of a mess of the main player count, it’s been limited to weekends. Although, it isn’t currently planned to last forever either.

Is Fortnite Keeping Delulu?

So the answer to is Delulu still in Fortnite is yes, but it’s not staying forever. Instead, it’s an LTM. We don’t know exactly when but it is coming. Epic is still planning on turning the mode back off eventually.

There will eventually come a time when you can’t play this mode, so get your fill. Although, the mode isn’t really built to be permanent, not yet. It’s the kind of mode which is an okay novelty, but doesn’t really have enough heft to warrant playing forever. There’s only so many times it’s entertaining.

However, it could get more of an edge eventually. The core gameplay of Fortnite Delulu seems different enough that it might be worth keeping around in some way or another. The full map, different loot pool, and 80 players, might be overkill. Although, Fortnite Creative maps that make use of the chat feature might end up fulfilling that niche by themselves. At the moment, the answer to did Fortnite remove Delulu is no, but the current plan is for it to eventually be removed.

It’ll be back every weekend until things change. So you just need to pop back in a few days if Fortnite Delulu isn’t live right now. Players have plenty of other modes to play with though. Including Creative maps that use proximity chat too. There just isn’t a live chat Battle Royale during the weekdays. Despite a lot of players wanting to play and not knowing is Delulu still in Fortnite. The current release schedule does seem to open the door to confusion.

Delulu’s Future

That doesn’t mean it won’t stay though. In the past, limited time modes have become permanent. The most successful was probably Zero Build. This was originally a temporary event in the game. However, it was made permanent after it proved such a hit, not just because it did okay.

More recently, Fortnite Blitz was launched as a limited mode. It ended up sticking around. Fortnite Delulu would be trickier to keep in the game right now. The mode might be smaller, but it’s still 80 players per game, which makes it harder to find games. It also doesn’t have bots since it’s all about voice chat, so it takes 80 real players to make a lobby work.

This could mean Fortnite Delulu is trickier to make into a full-time mode. If it continues to pull in a high number of players though, it might end up staying. Epic’s left the schedule for the mode pretty mysterious, so we’ll probably see it stick around until it starts to lose too many players or the game moves on. It probably won’t be around for the Simpsons mini-season, but could return in Chapter 7 if it’s missed enough.
