The long and arduous Dota 2 tournament that is DreamLeague Season 24 has come to a close, with Team Falcons reasserting their dominance over the competitive scene with an impressive bounce-back effort over the last three days. Even though they looked a little shaky through Group Stage 1, the return of coach Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling after a vacation period allowed them to rally in Group Stage 2 — posting a near-perfect map record of 14 wins and only one loss.

DreamLeague S24 Grand Finals: Falcons Reassert Themselves

They capped off their recovery by beating BetBoom Team three games to one in the grand final match, showcasing their top form and reminding everyone just why they’re the best team in the whole world. And they did so by playing their usual methodical style — textbook Dota that may be boring for the average spectator, but it is certainly world-beating if nothing else.

This roster is looking unstoppable once again, and their rivals will have to double down on their efforts to prepare against them if they want to stand a chance. But even that might not be enough. Their momentum is only growing as the new Dota 2 season wears on, and their opponents may not have any answers to it — unless a huge patch shakes things up and causes their playstyle to fall completely out of favor.

As a result, they’ve now won two major tournaments in a row this season, and are a total of $2 million richer for it. Prior to DreamLeague, they won BetBoom Dacha Belgrade. And though they hit a few bumps along the way here, they steeled themselves like a world-class squad would, and rolled through everyone in their way without breaking a sweat.

It’s tradition to name an MVP on the team throughout their run in this tournament, but to be perfectly honest, they all just found a second wind in Group Stage 2 as individual players and as a full roster. Each member of this squad is just at the top of their game right now, and together, they are greater than the sum of their parts.

Placing first here at DreamLeague Season 24 earns them an automatic invite to ESL One Bangkok, and a well-earned break after playing so many tournaments back to back — some of them even being from the previous season. They also now hold the top spot on the ESL Pro Tour leaderboard, earning 3,300 EPT points thanks to their victory over BetBoom Team.
