Thunderpick Bitcoin Series Officially Launches

Kiesha Richardson

The popular esports betting site, Thunderpick is launching its first bitcoin tournament, Thunderpick Bitcoin Series. The CS:GO tournament begins January 17 and will last through March 7.

This is the first tournament run by Thunderpick, with 23 teams competing. The CS:GO Thunderpick Bitcoin Series will have a prize pool 1.2 Bitcon guaranteeing the prize to be worth least $75,000.

The tournament will be a three-stage event, starting with a closed qualifier. Four teams, eSuba, OFFSET, Into the Breach, and BIG Academy, will face off in a double elimination round. Only the winners of the best-of-three round will move on to the next stage.

The main stage, taking place January 25, will host 16 teams competing for one of the eight spots available on the Final Stage. The Final Stage will feature 12 teams—eight teams plus four “guest teams”. A few teams invited guests include SINNERS, DBL PONEY, forZe, and Dignitas.

The Final Stage will take place from February 28 to March 7. The teams making it to the finals will battle it out in a “best of three” round until one team is victorious and takes home the Bitcoin prize pool.

Though this CS:GO tournament is the first esports tournament from Thunderpick, other tournaments are planned throughout 2022. We can expect a Dota 2 tournament in late 2022. The Thunderpick Bitcoin Series was organized in cooperation with Russian event organizer UCC.
