Team Liquid has announced that Twistzz is to leave the CS2 roster after two years, following the conclusion of FISSURE Playground 2. It was later revealed that Twistzz will be rejoining FaZe Clan, although who he replaces on the roster remains a mystery.
After a string of disappointing results with Team Liquid since his transfer from FaZe Clan, Twistzz’s return has not quite gone as he may have hoped. After two years, he will leave the team and move to FaZe Clan after FISSURE Playground 2, with the team thanking him for his flexibility throughout his time on the team.
After two years back on Team Liquid, @Twistzz will be transferring from our team at the end of Fissure.
We want to thank Russ for his flexibility, adapting to the roles we needed him in and working hard to achieve his best every time he joined the server 💙 pic.twitter.com/vqjgfucrYG

During his time on Team Liquid, he played the role of both rifler and IGL at various times, filling in where needed. He struggled more as an in-game leader, and has benefited from siuhy coming in. However, as a previously trophy-winning player, his ambitions seem to be higher than those of Team Liquid’s CS2 team at the moment. At the time of writing, it appears that Team Liquid may struggle to qualify for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, especially given their European status in the VRS right now.

This, of course, is Twistzz’s second stint with Team Liquid. During his first period with the team, he became part of the roster that won the Intel Grand Slam alongside nitr0, EliGE, NAF, and Stewie2k.
