NAVI have joined FURIA in tomorrow’s Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Final, after requiring all three maps to take down The MongolZ in a thrilling series. This was always going to be a tough series to separate, but in the end, The MongolZ fell just short attempting to defend their Thunderpick WC title.

Three maps required to separate The MongolZ and NAVI

In map one, it was a dominant T-side that made the difference for NAVI as they looked to get off to a winning start to this Thunderpick WC Semi-Final. Although they trailed at the break, they came out of the initial half-time with fresh ideas on the T-side, winning 8/10 rounds en route to a 13:9 win. Given The MongolZ were 7:2 up at one point and looked well in control of proceedings, it did feel like something of a collapse. We got to speak to NAVI’s iM after the series, who gave us his take on map one:

iM: I mean, I think it was a bit chaotic on our CT side. We knew kind of what they are doing, but we counter them at one point. But, I think at the end of the half, we managed to to get some some rounds. And then on this side we did, we did a pretty well job also because we come back because we also lost pistols.

They were able to make up for their failings on Nuke, doing so comprehensively. NAVI managed just three rounds in a 13:3 loss, in which they found themselves hampered on the T-side and completely run over on CT. Techno and bLitz led the way in the fragging department, leaving the team’s traditional stars in the dust heading into the decider.

This was always going to be a game of moments and momentum. The Ancient decider was filled with back-and-forth rounds, leaving the game right in the balance. With NAVI leading 11:7 but their economy in a precarious position, the game felt like it was on a knife-edge. Senzu put together a 4k with The MongolZ in a man disadvantage, and it felt as though momentum was going to swing their way.

But it all fell apart in another huge moment. With NAVI on pistols and a hero AK at 11:10, it felt destined to be a tied game. Instead, they put together a miracle round, winning with the budget investment and securing match point. They quickly saw things out from there, 13:10, a place in the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Final secure.

NAVI vs. FURIA is a tantalizing matchup in the Final, but what is most interesting is that these two teams are yet to face each other with their current iterations. Their paths have been very different since their last clash in March, and this is going to be a huge test for both teams. Of facing FURIA for the first time since March, iM said, “Oh, I mean, they have a pretty good form… Like I said we didn’t play them for a long time. So it’s going to be an interesting match. It’s going to be a best-of-five. And then I think it’s going to be a good fight.”
