At the start of this match, FURIA threatened to run away with proceedings, getting off to a 6:0 start on Train. However, a lengthy tech pause stalled their momentum, and Aurora were able to turn things around into a competitive match.

At 12:11, it looked like we were all set to go to Overtime, but FURIA were able to break a four-round losing streak to finally see out the map. FURIA have molodoy to thank for their win, his 22-kill haul the difference-maker in the opener. We got the opportunity to speak to molodoy post-match to get his thoughts on his form at the moment, and how he stays consistent.

molodoy: I don’t know. Maybe confidence, because every time I’m confident and I think this helps me a lot.

Map two, Overpass, was FURIA’s pick, and you could tell that they were immediately more comfortable here. At one point, they established a solid 7:2 lead, and had the momentum to put together an insurmountable advantage. However, Aurora showed some life by making it a 7:5 half, and in theory, it was game on.

Aurora’s struggling T-sides were put on show in the second half – FURIA went a flawless six rounds in a row on CT, putting together a 13:5 scoreline to secure a spot in the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Final. It’s been perfect for FURIA so far – they are yet to drop a single map at the event. When asked why post-match, molodoy joked that the question was “maybe for FalleN.”

Now, FURIA will go on to face the winner of NAVI vs. The MongolZ. molodoy said to us that it “doesn’t matter” who FURIA face, but believes “NAVI have a better chance to win” versus The MongolZ.

The latest win follows an excellent run of form for FURIA, who are seemingly redefining expectations for themselves with every event. Tomorrow, they now have a chance to secure a second Tier 1 trophy win of 2025, following FISSURE Playground 2. And for Aurora, it’s back to the drawing board.
