Mastering the best CS2 rifles is what the game is all about, really. During the early rounds of every match, you save your pennies for a rifle round, hoping to get the big guns involved to help you to the victory.

But which CS2 rifles are the best? Which ones are worth your time, and which can safely be left out of your loadout in favor of other things? Our CS2 rifles ranking should give you a much better understanding of the current meta.

7. AUG

AUG (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $3,300
  • Damage: 28
  • Armor Penetration: 90%

Bottom of the pile among the best CS2 rifles ranking has to be the AUG. Its scope is mostly an unwanted distraction on CT side, and it has the lowest base damage of the lot. Its high armor penetration isn’t enough to make up for the slow fire rate, either. Its $3,300 price tag makes the AUG a bit of a liability overall.

6. FAMAS

FAMAS (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $1,950
  • Damage: 30
  • Armor Penetration: 70%

The CS2 FAMAS is fairly good value for money, offering decent stats across the board. The problem is that it’s not really a specialist weapon in any regard. You don’t necessarily need to shy away from the FAMAS when picking your CS2 rifles in your loadout, but know you’ll usually be purchasing it as an economical decision.

5. SG 553

SG 553 (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $3,000
  • Damage: 30
  • Armor Penetration: 100%

The 100% armor penetration can make the SG 553 a living nightmare for players to deal with, especially in the hands of a capable player. Although it’s scoped like the AUG, it doesn’t feel as cumbersome, and it really feels like you can make an impact with it. If not for the existence of the AK-47, the SG 553 would be far more popular among all CS2 rifles.

4. Galil AR

Galil AR (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $1,800
  • Damage: 30
  • Armor Penetration: 77.5%

Fewer CS2 weapons offer better value for money than the Galil AR. At $1,800, it’s by far the best of the budget CS2 rifles, combining solid damage with high accuracy. It also does 92 damage when dinking armored players with a headshot, so if you’re pretty good at the game, you’re going to find a ton of success with the Galil in CS2.

3. M4A4

M4A4 (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $2,900
  • Damage: 33
  • Armor Penetration: 70%

We’re really getting into the meat of the best CS2 rifles now. The M4A4 is the leading rifle on CT side for those who want a loud and proud approach. A 30-bullet magazine trumps its main competitor, the M4A1-S, but it does have less damage and what feels like worse accuracy, especially at distance. Price reductions in past updates have made the M4A4 far more viable, but it’s only enough to clinch 3rd here.

2. M4A1-S

M4A1-S (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $2,900
  • Damage: 38
  • Armor Penetration: 70%

Then, you have the M4A1-S, the most used CS2 rifle on the CT side. This is notable for its best-in-class damage, as well as its incredible accuracy. Seriously – in the right hands, the M4A1-S functions like a laser. The fact that it’s the only silenced CS2 rifle is just another massive bonus. Shame about the 20-bullet magazine, but any more would be incredibly overpowered.

1. AK-47

AK-47 (CS2 Rifles Ranked)

  • Price: $2,700
  • Damage: 35
  • Armor Penetration: 77.5%

At the top of the CS2 rifles ranking is, of course, the AK-47. The AK-47 is the best gun in CS2 by far, offering instant headshots on enemies from any range. You can tap it, you can master its CS2 spray – any playstyle is viable with this. Top off high damage and good armor penetration with an extremely fast fire rate for a recipe to success. It’s mind-blowing that this CS2 rifle only costs $2,700.
