North American esports organization 100 Thieves has confirmed its return to the Counter-Strike 2 circuit after a five-year hiatus from the scene. The previous roster fielded in 2020 included the likes of jks, jkaem, and Liazz, and its time in the game was short-lived.
According to a press release, 100 Thieves’ return to CS2 was made possible “by a landmark, multi-year partnership with Roobet, who will serve as the presenting & naming rights sponsor.” The team will compete under the name 100 Thieves Roobet.
The organization has also confirmed plans to establish a training facility in Serbia, which will “act as a central hub for creators to stream and produce content, placing the organization at the heart of the global Counter-Strike community.” 100 Thieves President, Jacob Toft-Anderson, said this:
“Counter-Strike has always been a cornerstone of esports, and CS2 has sparked new energy worldwide. Europe is at the center of that community, and by establishing a permanent home there, we’re committing to doing this the right way and with Roobet as a partner, we’re building something our fans can be proud of.“
Allen Temiz, Director of Partnerships at Roobet, also commented:
“Counter-Strike has always been close to our hearts at Roobet. Our founding team met playing CS online, so this partnership with 100 Thieves feels like coming home. Joining forces to launch 100 Thieves Roobet is not just a business move, it’s a passion project rooted in the very DNA of our company. We’re proud to help bring one of the most iconic esports brands back to the Counter-Strike stage and to build something global, competitive, and unforgettable.“
There are currently no players announced for the 100 Thieves CS2 roster, with the team to be announced in the coming months. “With every player announcement, a donation will drop to a charity of that player’s choice,” according to 100 Thieves.

The prevailing rumor is that FaZe rain has signed a deal to join the 100 Thieves CS2 roster, dependent on whether the team can put together a competitive roster around him. Further rumors suggested the team was chasing the GamerLegion core of REZ, Tauson, and PR, although it’s unclear whether this will come to fruition. Regardless, 100 Thieves has once again committed to Counter-Strike, five years after its last roster exited the scene.
