Team Vitality today confirmed the return of former in-game leader Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel to their roster. With expectations unmet in the VCT EMEA Stage 2 groups and the roster change window now open, the organization evaluated how to best strengthen their squad to qualify for and perform at VCT Champions Paris in front of a home crowd.
Revealed by the organisation in a post on X, Vitality invited Sayf to join the team in Berlin as a potential substitute for their match against Gentle Mates last week due to an ill teammate. Although he didn’t play, he was heavily involved in game prep and review—reinforcing his invaluable experience and competitive drive. Following discussions between Sayf and the team, he has officially rejoined as a sixth player. This time, he will serve as a flex, rather than resume his full-time IGL position.
The organization believes that ‘with all of Sayf’s experience on and off the server, the whole team can greatly benefit from having him back on the roster’. Vitality are eager to show what their expanded squad can achieve during playoffs.

Sayf began his professional Valorant career in 2020 with Ninjas in Pyjamas, quickly establishing himself as one of the most reliable duelists in Europe. He later transitioned to Guild Esports, where he made his mark on the international stage, helping the roster reach top eight at Masters: Copenhagen. By late 2022, Sayf had joined Team Liquid, with whom he captured the 2023 VCT EMEA League title and competed at both Masters Tokyo and Champions that year. His consistency and leadership eventually brought him to Team Vitality in September 2023, where he has since become one of the team’s cornerstone figures.
Over the course of his career, Sayf has built a strong track record at both regional and international levels. With Team Vitality, he was part of the roster that finished runner-up at VCT 2024 EMEA Stage 2, earning the team their first qualification for VALORANT Champions. In 2025, as in-game leader, he guided Vitality to victory at the VCT Kickoff tournament and secured a top-four finish at Masters Bangkok, delivering some of the organization’s best international results to date. The squad, however, later struggled during EMEA Stage 1 and Sayf stepped back to focus on his well-being.
His return as a sixth man underscores both his resilience and Vitality’s confidence in his ability to impact their playoff push.
