Overwatch World Cup 2019 Preliminaries Winners

The 2019 Overwatch World Cup got underway on October 31, with the Preliminaries. Teams were divided into five brackets to determine which five teams would join South Korea, Canada, United States, China and France.

We know now that Denmark, United Kingdom, Sweden, the Russian Federation and the Netherlands will join those five teams in the Group Stage today, November 1.

All of the teams except for Sweden beat their final opponents in 3-0 sets. Italy was able to take a single match off of Sweden in their bracket’s final. Additionally, all five teams had received a bye in the top 8 round in their respective brackets.

The Group Stage for the Overwatch World Cup will feature two five-team brackets. Bracket A will include South Korea, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France and the United States. Bracket B will feature Canada, the Russian Federation, China, Denmark and the Netherlands.

The group stage matches are going to be best-of-three series.  Blizzard will broadcast all of the games over the same four Twitch channels used for the Preliminaries: Match stream 1, Match stream 2,  Match stream 3, and Match stream 4.

All matches are scheduled to get underway as of 3:00 p.m. EDT, with the full brackets now available on the official World Cup site.

Additionally, rumors are rampant about a potential announcement regarding Overwatch 2 during BlizzCon 2019. You can find the full BlizzCon schedule on the official BlizzCon site. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. EDT, with “Coming Soon!” presentations taking place on the “Mythic Stage” throughout the day.
