Marvel Tōkon is one of the most anticipated new fighting games, but what will the roster look like? Any new fighter gets tons of speculation about its choice of characters. it’s even more important with the Marvel Tōkon characters. Since it‘s pulling from established source material, its choice of fighters will partially define the move sets of its characters.

All Marvel Tōkon Fighters Explained

The choice of Marvel Tōkon character means choice of super powers available too. Marvel characters come in with a ton of different moves fans expect, so the choices are important. They’ll partially decide the play style.

We’ve seen quite a few Marvel fighting games in the past, usually with a fun mix of characters. The Marvel Vs Capcom series drew on what was popular at that time. With plenty of X-Men. We’ll see a different mix in 2026. Plus, Arc System Works have shown they’ll pull from all over the deck with their adaptations. Like they did with FighterZ, if you excuse the array of Gokus that title built up.

What can we expect from a Marvel fighting game today? These are all of the confirmed Marvel Tōkon characters so far and what we know about character selection for the title:

Marvel Tōkon is still upcoming, so we don’t have a complete list of characters just yet. However, between announcements, trailers, and the recent Marvel Tōkon beta, we have a decent idea of what’s coming. It’s a good list of Marvel Tōkon we know are making the cut.

A good amount of the Marvel Tōkon characters have even been played in the early looks at the game. There’s some we all expected like Spider-Man. But there is a bit more out here These are all of the confirmed fighters so far to the game:

  • Captain America
  • Iron Man
  • Spider-Man
  • Doctor Doom
  • Ghost Rider
  • Storm
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Star Lord

These are confirmed characters in the Marvel Tōkon fighters list so far. They’ll be more coming as we get closer to its eventual release though. It’s just an early roster on show here, we expect it to be a bit bigger further down the line. These characters will be playable once players join for the first time.

For bigger Marvel ans, it’ll be tempting to go with the character they’re already a fan of. Arc games have some intresting ways of developing characters though. It’ll definetely be worth trying everything out at launch and seeing which of the characters clicks with you.

Just like how the 2XKO beta tests had a smaller roster at first. Arc is testing things with a more parred down selection. They also tend to lean heavily on DLC to expand out rosters.

Future Marvel Tōkon Characters

Some of the best fighting games contain tons of characters, and others have more stripped back rosters. We can expect the Marvel Tōkon characters list to be a bit bigger at release, but some of them might take longer to arrive. It won’t be an enormous Marvel Tōkon Fighters list right at spawn. Arc tends to start smaller. More polished, with everyone having their own unique selling point. Then they add more in as we get further through the game.

Developers have confirmed even more Marvel Tōkon Fighters are coming in the future too, with a number more in the works already. While the idea of DLC being worked on before a game is out can annoy some players it’s become pretty standard in fighting games. Releasing character gradually helps to maintain interest in the title, spacing out the most exciting parts of the game’s post-launch life.

Given how Arc System Works games normally go, we’ll likely see DLC support after release too. Most of their games get some support and extra features.

Those that maintain players’ interest can get a lot of support, like Guilty Gear Strive. It’ll depend on how Marvel Tōkon performs to some degree. Arc can move on from less popular titles fairly quickly too. They usually support for a little while, then let the player base decide. This new title is up against big hitters like SF 6 and popular more recent additions like 2XKO. Although, coming in as part of an established franchise and with Arc’s pedigree, Marvel Tōkon will probably be expected to run for a little while at least.

We’re expecting the full release of the title in 2026, but exact dates haven’t been confirmed yet. Players will have to wait and see when it arrives and how each of the Marvel Tōkon characters works one the release date rolls around.
