NRG Esports celebrated its 10th Anniversary just last month, with the organisation’s CEO and Founder Andy Miller offering up a farewell message to fans of the organisation on Twitter/X. Crucially, the NRG brand will remain, with the two working together. Andy Miller will remain with NRG in an advisory capacity, and it’s expected that the current NRG rosters will remain, at least for the time being.

Speaking about the news, Andy Miller said: “They’re keeping the NRG brand, they’re keeping most everybody in the org. All the players, all the staff, myself, and Jaime Cohenca, of course still going to be running the show on the gaming side of things. We are really fortunate to be with a group with deep pockets and a long-term view of the space. As of today, we’re NRG. We’re still NRG, we’re going to be NRG for quite a while, just some new faces and some new energy behind the brand.”

Andy Miller will remain, as mentioned earlier, as an advisor, with Dom Kim becoming the new CEO. It’s now expected that DarkZero will use the NRG banner, which will see the sides Rainbow Six Siege X side become NRG, dropping the DarkZero name from future events.

Andy Miller continued: ” NRG has always been about the fans, the players, and the people behind the scenes who built something special together. I have full confidence in DarkZero’s leadership and their commitment to honouring what makes NRG great while building for the future. Thank you to our #NRGFAM for the unwavering support over the years. I encourage you to stay engaged and excited as this next chapter begins.”

DarkZero Esports will next compete at the North America Last Chance Qualifier for Rainbow Six Siege X. For now, we don’t know if they will compete as DarkZero or NRG for this event.
