Wildcard Teams Entering M7 MLBB World Championship

As the M7 MLBB World Championship approaches, eight teams from emerging regions will compete in the Wild-Card stage. But only two will earn their way into the main Swiss Stage.

These wild-card entrants represent a diverse mix of regions and fresh faces on the global MLBB esports stage, most of them without previous international presence.

Wild Card Teams of M7

Here are the wild-card teams and what makes them a capable competitor:

RLG SE (Vietnam)

With Vietnam getting their own regional league they’ve secured their spot by winning the VMC Winter 2025, making them the first ever VMC representative.

Both the Gold laner, Daylight, and the Mid laner, Hehehehehehe, have experiences on the world stage when they were under Legion Esports, with multiple appearances from qualifying through the Mekong Qualifiers.

Axe Esports (MENA / UAE)

Axe qualified as the runner-up of MPL MENA Season 8, right behind Team Falcons. This is the first time the organization has qualified for the international stage with constant presence in all MPL MENA.

After Axe acquired the entire roster of Ultra Legends, they have now placed themselves as the number two team of MENA. Despite being second in their region, they now have a shot at the world stage. Their regional performance was strong enough to earn this opportunity, but they still lack deep international experience, as MSC2025 was their first — giving them a hunger factor.

Boostgate Esports (Turkey)

Representing Turkey, they clinched their wild-card berth by placing as runner-up in the MTC Türkiye Championship Season 6.

With their jungler Kazue’s international experience, he can lead this rookie team to a spot in the Group Stage of M7. Turkish teams have historically surprised everyone in the international tournaments, so Boostgate Esports is poised to become a threat itself against fairly new competition.

Virtus.pro (EECA)

A well-known esports organization globally, but in MLBB they’ve earned their wild-card slot as the runner-up of the EECA MCC Season 6. They’ve shown that Team Spirit is not the only strong team in EECA as they’ve qualified for the Group Stage of MSC2025 through the Wild Card Stage.

With their original roster now complete with their jungler and center, Zauregoist, they are now more cohesive and have their chemistry built from all of their training up to this point. Virtus.pro is definitely the favorites of the Wild Card coming in this M7 MLBB World Championship.

Leon Esports (Mekong)

Leon qualified by becoming MCC Mekong Season 6 Champions, representing the Mekong region. Their roster consists of two notable players, Juviana from Niightmare Esports that participated in M5 and Lamaj, the brother of M3 winner Hadji.

Teams from this sub-region often fly under the radar in global MLBB coverage, and Leon’s inclusion symbolizes the growing competitiveness of the Mekong circuit.

Guangzhou Gaming (China)

They are the runner-ups in the MLBB China Master 2025 (MCS 2025) tournament, putting them in the wild-card bracket for M7. They have an iconic gold laner, Owl, previously from Blacklist International during MSC2023 as a runner-up.

Chinese MLBB has seen regional talent, but this particular team hasn’t yet made a name on the M-Series world stage, making them a potential sleeper. They made the champions DianFangYaoGuai sweat bullets during their Upper Bracket Finals and Grand Finals match, taking it both to Game 5.

Team Zone (Mongolia)

Representing Mongolia, they clinched their spot via the ENC National Championship, emerging as the 2025 champion. They have upset the favorites of the tournament, The MongolZ, lead by their veteran player and previous MongolZ jungler, Zxaura.

Mongolia is not traditionally seen as a powerhouse in MLBB, so Team Zone’s appearance is significant — and they’ll likely be motivated to prove their region belongs in M7.

ZETA Division (Japan)

They qualified through the M7 Japan Qualifier, winning their spot outright. Their first appearance in the MSC2025 Wild Card was nothing but remarkable results getting to the finals against Virtus.pro for the spot in the Group Stage.

A lot of people didn’t expect their performance to be that good, which brings us to having expectations now for this M7.

Emerging Underdogs

Unlike M6 and MSC2025, where only one wild-card spot was available, M7 allows two teams from the wild-card round to advance into the Swiss Stage. This increases the stakes and gives emerging regions a better shot at breaking in.

The wild-card lineup for M7 MLBB World Championship is rich with promise and potential. Teams like RLG SE, Axe, Boostgate Esports, Virtus.pro, Leon, Guangzhou Gaming, Team Zone, and ZETA Division bring regional pride but lack deep international experience to prove they can stand against the legends of MLBB esports.

Their spots reflect both Moonton’s continued expansion of MLBB esports globally and an opportunity for underdog stories to emerge. While the spotlight often shines on established powerhouses, wild-card teams could be the ones who disrupt expectations and make M7 truly unpredictable.
