The M7 World Championship brings together the most refined MLBB teams on the planet, but for those still chasing the top tier like TS SAWO. The gap isn’t closed overnight. For teams like Team Spirit, M7 isn’t just about wins and losses.

TS SAWO: “We’re trying to make something out of it and do something better”

It’s about learning, adapting, and surviving at the highest level to win the ultimate prize of them all, the championship.

Studying the World’s Best

When asked how Team Spirit can bridge the gap against powerhouses from the Philippines, Indonesia, and even Malaysia, TS SAWO was truthful about the process.

“Just step by step — macro and micro. We’re trying to steal something good from what we see in the best teams like Team Liquid PH,” SAWO explained. “It doesn’t matter who’s top one or top two, from Philippines, Indonesia and even Malaysia. We’re seeing something perfect and trying to make something better.”

That mindset reflects the reality of modern MLBB competition. Mechanical skill alone no longer separates contenders from champions. It’s the ability to read rotations, adapt drafts, and execute under pressure that defines the world’s best teams. For qualified contenders such as Team Spirit who has reached Top 4 in the world stage, studying the small details has become essential to take it to the next level.

Ranked Games in Indonesia

The grind doesn’t stop after the teams are done with their scrims. Ranked games remain a daily proving ground, even if they come with their own frustrations. TS SAWO laughed when asked about playing solo queue in Indonesia.

“It’s so hard to play solo, so I ask Hiko to play with me. Otherwise, I’ll get Loser’s MVP,” he joked. “I’ll play damage Chou or full damage Khaleed — and it doesn’t matter.”

His teammate TS SunsetLover echoed the sentiment, pointing out how unpredictable ranked matches can be, even for professionals.

“Sometimes it’s soooo hard to play solo queue because the enemy team is always better than my teammates” he said. “They’re always picking whatever they want using TikTok builds and combos. That’s why I’m playing with Oneshot instead.”

At M7, the spotlight shines brightest on champions. But behind the scenes, players like SAWO and Sunset Lover embody the real story of grinding and growth, one built on observation, persistence, and a relentless willingness to learn from the very teams standing in their way.

Team Spirit is 1-0 in the first leg of the M7 Swiss Stage and will continue their journey up against Selangor Red Giants for the next round.
