Aurora Gaming had their toughest week at the MPLH PH last week against Team Liquid and Team Falcons, two world champion caliber teams that are decorated with multiple accolades. They faced both teams on consecutive days, only having so much time to prepare for the second team. In the end, Aurora came up on top, ending Team Liquid and Team Falcons’ win streak to continue their undefeated record moving to the 2nd half of MPL PH S15.
How long can they go?
Aurora Gaming stopped Team Liquid from getting a perfect half with a reverse sweep, while moving towards their own clean record in MPL PH S15’s 4th week. During this match, we saw a lot of returning heroes to the pro scene being picked, especially the surprise pick during the 3rd game, Estes.
With this, “The Healman, Renejay” returns to the stage. Team Liquid struggled heavily with Aurora’s surprises and curve balls thrown at them, ending with Aurora snowballing out of control to win the match. With the current standings from that point, Aurora Gaming is the only team left to possibly end the first half with a clean 7-0 record but Team Falcons is waiting for them on the next day as their final test.
Every MPL fan was anticipating this match as it was Aurora Gaming’s final test of achieving a perfect half run during the season. This was also Team Falcon’s chance to tie up for first seed alongside Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming, leaving fans to wonder which two teams will represent the Philippines to Mid Season Cup 2025 in Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
Surprisingly, Aurora Gaming dominated both games since the Kite brothers wanted to prove that they are currently the best duo in the league. With Demonkite and Domengkite’s peak performance in the final match of the first half of MPL PH S15, they can no longer be criticized by fans to be “consistently inconsistent”.
I got the chance to speak with Renejay after the game and here’s what he had to say.
What do you guys feel after having a clean streak as of today?
Renejay: I didn’t expect it honestly. Even though whenever we win during our matches, we learn quite a lot from the teams. Even though we don’t get 2-0 sweeps on our matches, if we lose, it’s like a wake up call. It’s better that we get 2-1 by our opponents since we see our mistakes and what we need to improve on before the playoffs. The playoffs is the most important for us.

Aurora Gaming is already bound for playoffs with a huge lead among the other teams, cementing their spot as early as now. They are set to match up against Twisted Minds on March 28, 5:00 PM GMT+8 and clash once more with ONIC Philippines on March 29, 7:30 PM GMT+8 for the 5th Week of MPL PH S15.
