They are set to face off against Geek Fam ID and RRQ Hoshi respectively in the now double-elimination stage of the playoffs. Both winning teams had an amazing performance for day 1 of MPL ID S15 playoffs.
The first match’s result was expected as ONIC’s form going into playoffs was in peak condition while the second match was a big surprise to everyone, with Alter Ego reverse sweeping Bigetron Esports to advance to the next stage.

ONIC vs Team Liquid ID Open MPL ID S15 Playoffs
At the start of their match during game 1 of the MPL ID S15 Playoffs. ONIC surprised Team Liquid ID with a Jungle Kaja pick from Kairi. This was never been done before, or at least in professional play. Kaja is usually a support hero to initiate pick offs with his ultimate. ONIC played game 1 masterfully as they didn’t let Team Liquid ID have any room to breathe.
The following game had normal meta heroes but Kiboy decided to show up with his Badang, locking up enemy heroes and initiating great team fights for ONIC, snowballing out of control. This led to ONIC having match point early and with ease. Not even breaking a sweat, moving on to the next stage of the playoffs.
Game 3 had ONIC in the driver seat the entire time, which had fans and casters already concluding the match as a 3-0. Until Team Liquid ID’s rookie Gold Laner Kyou had a crazy strategy of finishing the game with his Moskov, while his other teammates were contesting for the lord against ONIC. Team Liquid ID didn’t let ONIC get back to their base quickly. Leading to Kyou finishing the game unexpectedly, giving hope to the Cavalier with a point on the board.
ONIC then decided to bust out another unorthodox pick in the Jungle; Julian. Julian has not seen any pro play in the past 2 years. Heavy nerfs meant teams completely dropped him. Julian didn’t make as much of an impact but his crowd control ability and burst potential gave his other teammates a chance to win them the game, ending the series 3-1.

The return of Coach Yeb with his masterful drafts really gave ONIC a second wind to advance to the next stage of the playoffs. This made them one step closer to joining their brothers in the Philippines, ONIC PH, to MSC 2025. While eliminating the brothers of another Philippine team, Team Liquid PH, as revenge for beating ONIC PH in the grand finals.
Bigetron Esports vs Alter Ego
Game 1 started with Alter Ego giving up one of the most contested Mid Lane heroes in the meta, Luo Yi. Bigetron then took advantage of this free use of the hero to its full potential, pressuring Alter Ego with Luo Yi’s global ability of transporting heroes anywhere. This gave Bigetron entire map control for the rest of the game, ending with them leading the series.
The next game had another pocket pick but this time, it was Alter Ego picking a jungle Lancelot for the superstar jungler, Rinee. That didn’t stop Bigetron Esports from completely snowballing the game out of control, not leaving Bigetron any space to farm, immediately ending the game to a match point.
Game 3 had another great surprise by a signature pick of the veteran Roamer DreamS in the form of Franco. DreamS is known for his high accuracy hooks to immediately pick off anyone out of position. Hook after hook, Alter Ego eventually won the game, getting them their first point.
Bigetron Esports still didn’t respect ban DreamS’ Franco, which led to another problem for them in the 4th game. With a lot of engage heroes in Alter Ego, they kept on pressuring Bigetron to respond to their tempo. After taking the first lord however, Alter Ego overextended. Giving Bigetron a chance to bounce back in the game after being wiped by the entire team. This then led to a game of 50:50 until DreamS, the hero of Alter Ego, found an opening to hold Bigetron’s Gold Laner, EMANN to be bursted down by his teammates, going to a game 5.
Game 5 had so many surprise picks with their Roamers taking the utility route with healers in their arsenal. Bigetron also had Luo Yi for their draft but didn’t have any good partners to fully utilize the global scale of his ultimate. Alter Ego then snowballed out of control with them not letting Bigetron out of their reach whenever they see heroes present on the map. A miracle run of a reverse sweep was done, Bigetron being upset again by a team they beat almost easily during the group stage.
