All Roads Lead to Faker

Undoubtedly the greatest League of Legends player of all time, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has proven that he’s a player of different caliber on the Worlds stage. From clutch Seismic Shoves on Taliyah to picking Mel, a champion he’s only played one other time in competitive play, in game 5, he proved his versatility as a player once again. He’s even set a record in this series for getting his 1100th international kill in this series.

While it seems that there’s no end in sight in just how much more Faker can achieve in his career, he’s remained humble after his victory. In his post-match interview, he shared,

“I expected to play a very fun series because AL is such a strong team… In such a high-stakes series like this, the luck factor also plays a pretty big part, and there were moments where I felt that luck was on our side.”

T1 continues to remain undefeated against the LPL at Worlds

One of the storylines that hyped the series up even further was the fact that T1 had never lost a series against an LPL team at Worlds. While there were moments where AL looked as if they’d be the first team to take a Worlds series against them, T1 was once again triumphant against an LPL team.

After the series, the community jokingly commented, “There are three ironclad rules in League of Legends: Never follow a Singed, never dive a Shen, and never bet against T1”. As they take their final steps closer towards the Summoner’s Cup, T1 hopes to keep the record alive against their semifinal opponents, TOP Esports.
