With the LTA North starting this week, here are our updated LTA Power Rankings as teams will be giving their all, hoping to snatch the top spots and a Worlds qualification. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it.
LYON only made one roster change during the break, bringing in Zamudo from the tier-two scene to replace Licorice. Unfortunately, it’s hard to see this as an upgrade. While Zamundo might have potential to showcase on stage, the rest of the team haven’t really shown much over the past two splits. With no clear strengths and little promise, LYON might be the ones to end last this split.
Dignitas replaced Srtty with Photon in the top lane and while the move could be interesting, I don’t think Photon will move the needle for the team. Always considered a strong laner, he hasn’t really shown much after the first season on Team Vitality in the LEC. On paper, this looks like an upgrade but the rest of DIG is still very shaky and unless there is a major step up across the board, the team is expected to fight for the last spots.
Disguised made two changes: bringing in DARKWINGS in the mid lane and Rahel in the bottom lane. While Rael was considered a strong player in the LEC when he was on SK, he is now far from that level of play, and this could hinder Dignitas’ overall ceiling. The spotlight will likely go to DARKWINGS, who will get his shot in the tier-one scene. Unless he makes a major exploit, however, I doubt the roster will be able to break away from the bottom of the standings.

Even though 100 Thieves are placed fifth in the LTA Power rankings, the gap between them and the bottom three should be quite substantial. Not only due to the difference in the individual players, but also for how the team should be favored by the current meta. I’m mainly looking at the mid-jungle duo for this split, with River being once again the key to the team’s success. If he’s able to put on strong performances, 100T might have what it takes to fight for Worlds like last year. Until that happens, however, fifth is where they belong.
SR had a miraculous playoff run last split, fighting their way to a top-three finish. Not only did the team look more coordinated than others, but they have also benefited from the resurgence of Fudge, who has looked among the best tops in the league last time out. Paired with a strong lineup of veterans in Contractz, Palafox, and Bvoy, the team might be the dark horse for a Worlds run, especially if one of the top teams ends up struggling to meet expectations.
Even though Team Liquid fell off a cliff in the second split, I still think their potential is much higher compared to teams like 100 Thieves and SR. Now that Yuuji is the sole jungler of the team and has had some time to settle in, the LTA Split 3 is where we’ll probably see Team Liquid in their true light. The bottom lane is a known quantity and as long as Impact doesn’t end up being a hindrance for the rest of the team, I’m expecting TL to consistently fight for the top positions…

I still rate Cloud9 very highly in our LTA Power Rankings, although I was quite surprised by the way they showed up at the Esports World Cup. They were an ideal scrim partner for most of the MSI teams, but the level of play they showcased on stage in Riyadh didn’t really look that promising.
That being said, you can’t look away from the names and the quality of the players. Zven and Vulcan are still two strong veterans, and Blaber is arguably the second-best jungler in the league behind Inspired. He and Loki will have to find something to make sure they can lead the team to Worlds.
There is only one king in the LTA North right now, and that is FlyQuest. Not only did they beat C9 last split, but they showed up with convincing performances internationally as well, forcing BLG to five games and putting up a decent fight against the best teams in the world Gen.G.
The team has arguably the best players in every single role, especially in jungle and the bottom lane of Massu and Busio. Worlds qualification seems to be an unexpected result for a team like FLY, so their main expectations will be to aim for the LTA title.
