The 2025 LEC season is approaching, and with it comes its fair share of predictions and hot takes. LEC Winter Split kicks off on January 18, and I wanted to challenge myself on that risky game that is predictions and analysis. I feel like this year, predicting is harder than ever, given the amount of unknowns we got from the get-go.

LEC Winter Split Tierlist – Straightforward Strength Breakdown

Plenty adjustments have been made within every team, even among the top orgs. A lot of eagerly awaited rookies are stepping in, and a lot of confirmed players that could be considered veterans have joined new teams. This split will be a good indicator of how things could play out for the rest of the year.

Keep in mind that this tierlist is for Winter only, as I expect many teams to either evolve or fall down during the course of 2025. Enough jibber-jabber..

Here is my tierlist for the 2025’s Winter Split of the LEC.

Winter 2025 LEC Tier List

My Tier List Breakdown & What it all Means

I will make individual articles about every single team in the league and why they are placed where they are on the tierlist. Below is my explanation on each tier and what it means.

  • S Tier –  Title favorites, teams that have the biggest shot at raising the first LEC trophy of the year in my opinion. If not, they should be in the top 4 because anything other than that would be a disaster given the expectations placed on them. I wouldn’t be surprised if being placed lower than top 4 in their first split would lead to roster changes in Spring.
  • A TierTitle contenders will need more time to be fully prepared on setting their sights on it. They should anyway be in the top of the league from the start of the year, because of their promising rosters and work environments.
  • B Tier –  Middle of the pack.. I think we will know very fast if this will be more of a middle low tier or a middle high tier team. It will really depend on their first few showings for everyone to judge if the synergy has taken sufficient hold.
  • C Tier – Can’t get placed higher than the mid bottom part of the rankings at the end of the split. Anything else would be quite a surprise for me, but they will anyway not compete for the title in Winter – without a massive upset.
  • D Tier – No multiverse where these teams can be in the top of the rankings at the end of their first split. My expectations for them are too low – for their debut at least – compared to the others and/or the team environment is far from the best

I’ll be taking a closer look at each of the teams in a more exhaustive presentation of their particularities, strengths and weaknesses. Every day until the LEC kicks off, an article on one of the ten teams that will compete will be published. So keep an eye on the website if you want your daily dose of analysis and opinion in the next few days, to get yourself warmed up before hostilities truly begin.

Be warned, his articles can sometimes ooze a little too much of his lack of objectivity towards the French scene and players…
