Riot Games has officially announced that the LEC Versus will move its starting time ahead by 15 minutes for the remainder of the tournament.
The shift was confirmed by the official schedule released by the EMEA league for Week 2. According to the LEC Commissioner, Artem Bykov, the change has been introduced after the broadcast team realized that the shows had run longer than expected in the first week of action.
With a total of six series per match day and the overall higher game time dictated by the new season meta, the average game time in the league is slightly below 34 minutes, according to data platform Games of Legends. Paired with the fact that fans and pro teams removed pre-recorded drafting and the required breaks in between matches, the show often lasted more than five hours, with the last match often ending after 22:00 CET.
“A couple of updates this year have contributed to longer showtimes, including the additional match during the LEC Versus Group Stage and the removal of pre-recorded drafting based on feedback from pro teams and fans,” explained Bykov in his tweet. As a result, the ready check will now be set at 16:30 CET, with the first match starting at 16:45.
The action returns on Saturday:

The first week of the LEC Versus saw a hectic fight at the top, with no one able to go undefeated. The only team with no wins on the board is currently Caedrel’s team, Los Ratones (LR), who struggled in the first two matches before putting up a decent fight against Karmine Corp (KC).
