Los Ratones Shut Down and ‘highly likely never coming back’

The announcement was made official in a lengthy video where he thanked to everyone who contributed to the project and talked about the five key players of the team. Started initially as a ‘streamer team’ to see how far it could go, the strong run in the ERLs turned Los Ratones into one of, if not, the most followed team in EMEA.

The team also got its chance in tier-one after Riot gave them access to LEC Versus. After a tough start, LR started racking several wins, but were eventually eliminated on the very last day, due to an unfortunate turn of events that saw them end out of the top eight due to the tie-breaker rules, despite having shown much stronger performances.

Caedrel explained that over the course of the tournament, the team got progressively better, but it wasn’t enough to take the decisive victory on the last day. He emphasized that there are no excuses since the outcome was in their hands, and stressed that there is no one else to blame:

It’s only on us to blame. I know there’s been a lot of like social media and drama and lots of people attacking and stuff like that. And I just want to say like there’s really no need for any of it. Our fate was in our hands and we let it slip.

After the elimination, Caedrel explained that there was a strong sense of brotherhood with many heartfelt conversations. He also added there will be a documentary released at a later date that will go over the team’s journey.

What happens to the players with Los Ratones end?

Caedrel had previously confirmed back in November 2025 that the team wouldn’t compete in the ERLs in 2026, leaving many wondering after the elimination what would be next. With this announcement, it’s certain that the project will no longer continue, and each of the players will be able to pursue their own path.

Simon ‘Baus’ Hofverberg has confirmed he won’t continue to play pro going forward and is likely going to go back to streaming. Support player and legendary player Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larssen also stated previously that Los Ratones could be the last thing he ever does in pro.

Mid laner Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek previously shared us that he will focus on himself and play League of Legends, although he didn’t specify whether it will be streaming or in some other form.

Earlier this week, ADC player Juš “Crownie” Marušič also unveiled that he planned to go to South Korea alongside Nemesis and Veljko “Velja” Čamdžić later this year during MSI. The three will be going there to play solo queue and continue to stream their gameplay.
