The team faced complications after former FlyQuest top laner Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau, who planned to role-swap to the jungle position, was not allowed to compete. According to the official regulations from the LFL, there cannot be more than two veterans in a roster competing in the European Regional Leagues (ERLs).

According to Article 3.1.5 of the official ERL rulebook, a veteran is “A Player who has participated in more than 50% of eligible matches in a Professional League (LEC, LCS, LPL, LCK, etc.) in at least three of the last five completed splits.”

French Flair, which already had top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane and Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé, wouldn’t have met the criteria to take part in the LFL Invitational, the first split of the new season for the French league. According to a report by Sheep Esports, the team had tryouts with NattyNatt and Ici Japon Corp. jungler Theo “Theocacs” Sauda, with the former prevailing.

NattyNatt is mainly known for reaching Rank 1 on the Korean solo queue during his bootcamp in October and November, as well as being a former Rengar OTP. In the past two years, however, the player has progressively widened his champion pool and has had professional stints on teams such as Ruddy Esports in the 2024 NLC Spring Split and then The Ruddy Sack once again this year.

The team led by Trayton will now prepare before the LFL Invitational kicks off on January 21. Featuring teams from both the LFL first and second divisions, as well as three Game Changer teams and two influencer teams (one of which is French Flair), the event will put two LFL slots on the line, allowing them to join the ERL for the rest of the season.
